Re: Hurricane Gustav

The weather people are saying that this storm will be a major rain maker like Fay was in Florida. The rain may be worst than the wind. I just talked with a friend in DeRidder- they are starting voluntary evacuation there.

Re: Hurricane Gustav

Tyler, Texas has been declared a disaster area because of the evacuees. That is just south of us here in Mineola. We had Katrina evacuees here for a few days. It is hot and muggy here.

This is in Longview, Texas. Just east of Mineola by about 50 miles.

Re: Hurricane Gustav

We have heard that there are no hotel rooms to be had here in north La. When I went out this afternoon in Shreveport there were convoys of military leaving along with a convoy of ambulances. They are getting ready for the big blow!!!!

Re: Hurricane Gustav

Have they decided the path of the storm or is it just wait and see? I don´t even know if they can decide something like that.
