So, now Apostolic Friends Forum is becoming Match.com.

Of all the threads I never expected to see on an Apostolic chat forum, this would have to be at the top of the list.

Now, one can log into an Apostolic forum, and learn how to walk into a bar, or a club, or any other public place and kiss a total stranger within a few minutes!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else find this a bit disingenuous? Or am I just becoming a bit cranky in my old age?

Honestly, the Song of Solomon is far more, um...well...than this conversation. Really bro, this is pretty tame. It might be a little over the top for some, but we're just havin' fun. For the most part most of us are happily married and are just getting some laughs. For the singles, it might give them the confidence they need to break the ice and find someone special. In all honesty, it might even work at a church pot luck! lol

Aquila started it...but you are getting CRANKY. My word, we talk about shoes and SEXY hairspray. Of course, picking up chicks is a bit over the top

Hey, I didn’t start this thread! LOL I also didn’t bring up “Kissing a girl”. I figured since y’all were already on the subject I had something to contribute.

But you know something, as a father, I certainly plan on teaching my son about women before his “buddies” do. I fear we’ve taught our boys to be “Mr. Nice-Guys” and they grow up too soft, clumsy, and unable to be “men” with women. I’m not sure, but I wonder if this is why so many of our boys are becoming, well, “light in the loafers”? Our boys need confidence and identity. I firmly believe there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed. But still I often wonder…whatever happened to being, “men”?

I don't know Rhoni... what do you think?

Aquila,

This is a sad state of affairs. I think the feminist movement contributed to the whole mess [did Rhoni say that?]. Men and women are so unsure of what role they are to be in.

Men aren't supporting their families and leaving women to be mom and dad to the children. Women in that role cannot go back to the submissive role because there is no trust there.

Dating is so out of whack. Women asking men to go out on dates making themselves vulnerable. Men asking women on dates without a clue as to proper ettiquette, i.e., asking a week to 10 days in advance and then actually planning it.

At least, growing up in the church...we had banquests to go to and the guys asked the girls ahead of time. Then the planning and excitement.

It also worries me how that, in my day - a kiss on the first date was considered "loose", and now they do so much more than that and the girls are usually the ones that the boys have to push away a say "no" to.

Wow...this is such a topic Aquila.

Blessings, Rhoni

Maybe I am getting cranky, but for the record, I think this thread is in poor taste for an Apostolic forum.

I'm not speaking as an admin, but as a member of the forum. I will discontinue reading the posts, but whenever statements like "Kissing is only the first step......." are made, it just makes me a bit uncomfortable.

What next, intimacy in the bedroom lessons? Where does it end?

MP,

My comment was not taseless as you seem to think. What I meant was anyone can kiss a girl, but it takes a real man to romance a woman, win her heart, and commit to her. It is your mind in the gutter.

Now this is a topic worth discussing, if we can get MP's mind out of the gutter.

Lol, ok........apparently, Aquila took it the same way, based on his response.
