Oh, I remember that too!!! So funny. I also remember the sermon "The Ashes of the Red Heifer" and him showing pictures of a red heifer. I asked my mom if he already had a picture of it, why weren't they burning it already?

She didn't think that was too funny. That man gave me nightmares! Literally!!

When we were at JCM, he held a revival at First Pent. Church that lasted for weeks and weeks and weeks. We were supposed to go every night. That was after Eddie & I were married, and Eddie volunteered to work many nights during that time. LOL! It was just the same sermon night after night and it definitely scared you half silly! I hated having to make that drive across town every night, and especially on those nights I was alone.

Re: Richard Heard?

I had panic attacks in the 70s as a small child from all the rapture trauma i suffered.

im not kidding. if i couldnt find my mama, I thought I had been left behind and would panic. I would go off by myself because I didnt want anyone to see it.

eventually I created a plan to get my parents money, my dads guns and located a place deep in the woods to go hide.

had a real hard time coming to grips with the notion that I would have to get my head chopped off to be saved.

all the time I was saved. Those 1970's end time preachers scared me. By panic attacks, I mean I coulndt breath, i would go weak in the knees and my heart would beat so fast, it would pound in my head to the point that was all I could hear.

Every once in a while, my flesh rises up and I want to punch one of those dudes in the eyeball.

then I repent and its all good.

I hope I didn't offend you. I wasn't say his church is dead, never been there. I was just generalizing that there are dead churches that people go to from other churches. Let's be honest, there are spiritually dead churches out there in all types of religions.
