Can you possibly have honest discussion, or is this what you expect me to respond to? We are talking about lights here, not involving ourselves in the sin of others.
You are drawing lines and being judgmental.

John Doe drinks 1 beer, he's still saved.
John Doe drinks 2 beers, he's still saved.
John Doe drinks 3 beers, he's still saved.
Poor John Doe drank another beer and now he is drunk and on his way to hell.

Please don't judge John Doe.

There should be a two beer limit as a standard!

She's not judging John Doe - the Bible is.

However, the Bible says NOTHING about colored lights or smoke machines, so anyone who condemns a church for that is taking judgment into their own hands.

I wish them luck!

You can say that about anything. That is purely your opinion.

As for the move of God, who says there is no move of God there? I've been to Old fashioned services and there was no move of God. It's not about the lighting

What is wrong with these things. I never read anywhere in the Bible where Beer drinking, dope smoking, Strobe lights, and good ole heavy metal music was wrong. Can you show me chapter and verse where these things are wrong you judgmental christians? I am trying to win people to God folks. Come on over to my church. We aren't any different than anyone else. Wow talk about Revival.

Then all of a sudden we could dust off that ole Bible and show them Acts 2:38

Then we can call our buddies and tell them we had a million in Sunday school. AFF would be rocking.

I think we have found the answer to reaching a lost world right here on AFF we will have all 7 billion of them in the bank in no time.

Any way we can folks, any way we can.
Look like them
Act like them
Sing like them
Watch television like them
Throw parties like them

I am doing it for Christ people. Don't you dare jump on here and criticize my methods of reaching the lost unless you have specific chapter and verse as to why it is wrong. If it is not plain like: Thou shalt not smoke dope... then you are making your own doctrine if you say it is wrong.

Does it make you any holier than me if you don't practice soul winning this way?

Don't dare be judgmental.
I nominate this for the most asinine post of the decade.

This is the dumbest post I have read in a while. It does not even count as an reductio ad absurdum since it's built on top of a strawman argument. Simply put, nobody here advocated we can do anything.

I second the nomination.

Of course, given enough time, I'm sure there will be a dumber one to eclipse it.

But, for now, I'm in.

I feel sorry for all those wedding guests that Jesus sent to hell because they drank the wine HE created.

Everything plays a role. BTW the Music provides a pleasurable and seductive scene as much as anything else. It depends on what you are using it for. We use music for praise, they use it for something else. Thus the argument that because it is in a club it is wrong is either fallacious or all churches have a huge problem

Quote:
Have you ever seen a pulpit or bible at a head banging concert?
Would that make a head banging concert somehow alright? Again this is not a point, you are proving nothing.

Quote:
as Metallica or Led Zepplin ever opened their concerts with prayer? They haven’t nor would they ever! They have enough brain to know there’s no common ground between both worlds.
You seem to be missing the point. Your argument was because they do it we can't. Because you can find X in a club then X is not to be used by the Church. You totally ignored my point, because we can find music, speakers, amps, mics in those venues. Be consistant not emotionally subjective.
Quote:
Why do colored lights, smoke machines, and strobe lights play a role within church services or “Christian youth concerts”, because Christians chose to imitate the world, and aren’t smart enough to know the difference!
That is your accusation...we are here trying to get you to prove it though and pointing out how flawed it is. What you are doing is giving your opinion on the motives of other people (judgment) and offering no proof.

If Christians are imitating the world just because the world uses something or does something then if this is not just your emotive biased opinion based on subjectivity and not on truth then this rule is true always. Thus if the world does it we should not.

Thus, get rid of the music, the speakers, the mics, the amps.No sound systems, no recordings. Don't listen to your favorite gospel singer on CD. Don't do or use what the world is doing or using. Stop the suits, the world wears the too.

Your argument is inconsistent and subjective

Because this whole thing is about subjectivity. It's based on their feelings. It's different from what they are used to so it must be wrong
