Your Preaching Pattern ...???

One of the most styles of preaching in Pentecost that I see is as follows:

Step 1.

Opening Text ...

Introduction ... is usually read from notes.. with motivational/practical devices, anecdotes, etc ... and laced w/ words the audience needs a dictionary for ...

Step 2

Time to Rip it!!!! ... Preacher takes off his jacket and says he's ready to preach ... "improvisational" preaching elaborating on core idea and filled w/ incentives and phrases to get people out of their seats.

Step 3.

Conclusion ... usually the weakest part of those using this style ... sometimes appeals to the altar are impromptu ... while many times the conclusion is read from the notes also ... also includes an anecdote.

Has anyone else seen this????

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

I would say this is old-timey preaching and I see a shift away from it, in Pentecostal circles.

Historically, Arkansas has been the center of many important 20th century pentecostal events.

Gonna go meet Cass' "adoptive" family ... she reveres DeltaGuitar's parents as her own ... she lived w/ them on and off for over 2 years.

Should be memorable and fun.

As a great added bonus I get to meet DeltaGuitar and DeltaSoundman (AFF) and various others I've met at SynaD also.

Should be cool.
