Standing she stretched and braced herself, staying in the shadows.
Suddenly she saw movement at the far end of the open pasture. A rider coming out of the birch break. She was ready for him. Slowly she lifted her rifle and waited.
As he ventured into firing range, she smiled thinking she had waited a very long time for this day. As he drew closer she fingered her trigger, motionless, waiting. Before he knew what happened, he heard a sharp gun report. His body flew, head over heels, off the back of his black steed, saddlebags flying. His Stetson fell beside him, quiet as the morning air.
She watched and waited for movement. Seeing none, she whistled for her golden Palomino, Cimarron. Swinging up in the saddle she spoke for the first time that morning, "Come on Cimarron, boy. Our work is done. StMark is dead. No Hillary voting Democrat is going to take our ranch away from us. Let's get back to the ranch and tell the girls."
Not knowing what lay ahead, she rode home toward the rising sun.

... As she rode up to the ranch house, the sun had now cleared the hills to the east. She tied Cimmaron to the post at the front step next to a black stallion that she had never seen before. She intended to go back out and "tidy up" the scene of her honest ambush after some breakfast.
She tossed her hat onto a hatrack inside the door and heard the silver studs clink as it landed on top of a dusty, crumpled Stetson. After she had swung her shapley legs under the table in the large dining area she looked up and saw that on the far end of the polished oak table there lay a small door to a cast iron stove with the hinge pins removed. Upon closer inspection she saw clearly the unmistakable mark where a bullet had impacted upon the iron.
Laughter came from the kitchen as suddenly the door was pushed open ...

My son has a Beretta 9mm, a Colt .45 and both are too big for me to conceal carry. (at least for my liking)
I qualified with the Beretta for my license but the KelTec is a very small gun. It is a semi-auto with double action only, so there is no safety. I carry it either in my pocket (which I really can't do due to Ohio law, unless it's in a pocket holster) or in a "DayTimer" holster I just purchased. It carries the firearm and one clip. It looks just like a small DayTimer zip up case on my belt, and this "calendar" is loaded, baby! I have it loaded with Federal Hydra-Shok police ammo.
I hope I NEVER have to use it! But if I do, I "pity the foo!"

Where in Ohio are you from?

She tensed, every nerve alert. Quickly she stood, grabbing her gun from it's holster.
Jack Parnham with his scraggly black beard came stumbling out of the kitchen, liquor jug in hand. As he made his way to the dining room table he stopped and slowly looked at her. She stood braced for what she knew would be trouble. Jack dropped the jug and reached for his gun.
"Not so fast, Jack. I'm a mile ahead of you. What are you doing here and who else is in my kitchen? Where are the girls, Jack?"
Jack studied her face. He knew that look. No one to mess around with, so he answered her, "Look. Me and the boys was just riding through. We ain't up to nothing. Thought we'd stop in and grab something to fill our stomachs before we headed out."
"I told you not to come around my place again, Jack."
"Desiree, for old times sake. What's the harm?"
"Jack you and I were over a long time ago. Look at you now? You've gone to seed. You have nothing to offer a decent girl. I want you gone. I tried to help you back in Frisco, but you fell in with the wrong crowd. I told you not to come around. Now get out," She said calmly, gun in hand.
He knew better than to mess with her. She wouldn't blink an eye at trouble and she could bring it, too.
Jack yelled to the boys in the kitchen. As he strode through the door he said, "You'll be sorry, Desiree. Mark it down."
"Where are the girls, Jack?", she screamed after them.
She watched them ride off knowing he meant what he said........
