Furthermore, I have lived long enough to see God balance the scales on both sides of the divide.

I have seen ministers who were crass and harsh get their comeuppance, and it isn't ever pretty.

And I have seen those who rebel and allow bitterness to set them in opposition to godly leadership make terrible shipwreck.

At the end of the day, God tallies the books, not the High Tribunal of AFF.

All members of the Body of Christ are worthy of respectful treatment, whether they are a part of the five-fold ministry or not.

But the Scripture has plenty to say about the way we regard and interact with leadership. Phrases like "double honor," and "obey them that have the rule over you" come to mind.

And if quoting Scripture in context "sets people off," as you say it does, then the offense is in the heart of the hearer, because the Word is true whether this generation likes certain aspects of it or not.

The double honor is in reference to pay...$$$$$

as for respectful treatment, I agree with you that everyone is worthy of the SAME respect.

And just for further consideration, Jekyl is not Dora's pastor that he should have rule over her, no?

I don't know whether to call this a red herring or a straw man.

Because where in the cat hair did he ever try and exercise any "authority" over her?

You keep throwing this out there, and it never happened that I could see.

He took her to task about what he perceived her attitude toward authority in general to be, but NEVER did I see him try and lord it over her himself.

How would one go about exercising authority over someone on an internet forum anyway?

Folks notice and comment about UFO's, Bigfoot, and the Abominable Snowman too, but no one ever seems to be able to present much evidence when it comes down to the nitty gritty.

Same thing with this accusation of heavy handed wielding of internet a*******y.

Oh, I am sorry you missed it....I wonder what other excuse you'll make up for your little buddy rather than acknowledge what is self-evident!

Let the records show: Exhibit 44B

Sounds like he thinks he has the god-given right to tell her what to do (rule and lord over her)

You are mixing things together here, J.

Telling someone to "knock it off" is exercising spiritual authority?

Jekyl was discussing two different issues--one, a personal interaction he had with Dora, and the other a matter of his perception of her attitude toward authority.

What does any of this junk of The cat fight and the fallout have to do with the 49 Elders.?

Uhhhhhhhhhh.................good question. Got 1 4 U. Why are we still reading this thread? Nothing even close to the subject matter has been said for like the last umpteen pages, but I keep dutifully coming back and reading every single page. When this thread was hijacked they took hostages! LOOSE ME AND LET ME GO!
