No thanks required--friendship is a reciprocal thing; but you are welcome.

As for the fellowship in Tampa, it was a blessing for us also. We'll definitely be doing that some more.

Outrageous...oy vey.

Explain how it is "sloppy" J-Roc...David did repent for exactly what Jekyl said he did.

And let's keep it in perspective here--it was one animated smiley kissing another animated smiley on its round, virtual little cheek.

Hardly "Peyton Place" material.

You may not have liked my use of the word "bundage" but if you go back and read my post I think you will be hard pressed to justify your characterization that it was a "rant".
You have been using that clever little term for a long time now.

I personally think it's funny, but then I love pundage.

By using what happened in those days to give validity to a notion that we should feel crushed and repented by "touching a pastor by cutting off a piece their robe"

Coonskinner, dont you realize it is this kind of thinking that get people to make comments about UCs saying they are "holier than thou"

This sloppy application is the catalyst of such sarcastic remarks.

When will we realize this and acknowledge this and begin to restore clergy/laymen relations? As long as this garbage thinking is presented, people will continue to speak against the ministry in ways that make you so livid. I know how you get when people seemingly attack the ministry, but its comments like this that set people off. Capiche?

J,

I don't care for the term clergymen/laymen in the first place. A little too Catholic.

All members of the Body of Christ are worthy of respectful treatment, whether they are a part of the five-fold ministry or not.

But the Scripture has plenty to say about the way we regard and interact with leadership. Phrases like "double honor," and "obey them that have the rule over you" come to mind.

And if quoting Scripture in context "sets people off," as you say it does, then the offense is in the heart of the hearer, because the Word is true whether this generation likes certain aspects of it or not.
