However a full blown organization is in the works with it's own Bible Quizzing program, youth ministries, Foreign and Home missions...

... and notice that they've chosen the nomenclature that I would have chosen - instead of calling brethren outside of North America "foreign", they're in "World Missions" territory.

Anyway, whenever they approach a UPC'er to "fellowship," they are quite obviously intent upon growing their own org. That's prosyletizing.
And I know of one minister who was proselytized and specifically asked not to tell his direct leadership about the conversation.... why the intrigue and "hush-hush" if it's all on the up and up????

Again just for the record I would not want to answer for keeping a man out of a city for which he had a burden. And this is not a Con vs Lib issue.
I agree. However what PastorD said was that he was told that he'd have to cross a brother's "dead body" to start another church in a city of over 1 million people. I was just pointing out that there are dozens of "cities" with over a million people. I didn't think we needed to hold PastorD to such strict definitions.

And keeping a preacher out of a city really comes down to the district board and the way it operates. There have been many men who were kept out of cities (metropolitan areas) because a local man had a little influence with the board and was afraid of competition. The west coast is especially known for this in the UPC.

This is just a chance for a few vagabonds to rag on some fellows who are establishing a breaking point in an old org. This is old hat, guys. Don't you have anything better to do with your time? Snicker, complaining, casting doubt, accusations of the bretheren, character assasination - you boys really have a thing going on here. If this is what fulfills your day, I wouldn't want to mess THAT up.

Honesty. HAH! What a complete joke.
It's really more ironic than that, Jekyll. Some of us "ex UPC" types (or vagabonds! LOL!) felt very uncomfortable in the UPC because of the mean spirited divisions that the "Tulsa crowd" was stirring up. That party controlled the UPC for all of my life up until now.

I guess they've just given up and decided that they can't make the UPC holy enough for themselves and now they want to kick the UPC out! Many of us are biting our tongues trying not to tell our UPC brethren, "See, I told you so..."

Did something happen to the board? It just got real quiet a few minutes ago. I was having a hard time just keeping up and now everybody's gone? What happened?

Did we bathe, Pela? Vagabonds are often malodorous.

I as well have heard of men who when told they could be a full Home Missionary with 1 yr support declined insisting they had to go to xx city. Where is their burden? Many churches open in towns of 40000-60000 and some are profitable with NO one to go. I heard of a church of over 200 that was open for over a year, and no one would go. Sad to say but some preachers have ego first and ambition in the drivers seat above burdens.

Whiny??

Now, who's calling the kettle?

I would think you have cheese regularly with your meals.

This from 12,000+ posts consisting of attempting to destroy apostolic doctrine. Great contribution to the apostolic movement. Great legacy.

Apostolic doctrine ... my whiny posting friend has not been ultimately defined by you or your radical cohorts. This doctrinal debate is not new, nor will it cease because you pontificate about a fictitious legacy, heritage, etc.

Get a grip on that ... before you bust a vein.

Now.... what ever did happen to that whiny post?
