I am just curious, if there is no contention and the subject of honor for each member is intact, meaning no brother has ought against one another, then what is the point lining up then washing each down the line?
Maybe I just don't get it.

Yes I wash every man's feet in the church and they wash mine. I did away with the one on one deal years ago. It is a good time to make sure things are fixed between brethren.

I guess that is my question, what if things don't need to be fixed? Just going through my mind, there are probably only two people I would feel, IN A STRICT SPIRITUAL SENSE, I would need to wash their feet and vice versa, except both of them are women and both of them are related to the pastor.
I can't think of one individual where between he and I, things need to be fixed.
I am using me as an example of course, but again, isn't it kind of redundant and even unnecessary if everything is cool between the brethern...and what about the sisteren?

The thought of it is really really gross. In fact, I suppose it is supposed to be gross...
I am curious and serious, do you add bleach to the water to avoid foot and nail fungus?

The statement about things getting fixed was just in case NOT the reason for the feetwashing.

Brother Epley, I am trying to paint you into a corner so I can understand better. I am not asking because I am cynical or want to tear down your belief.
So, let me get this straight, you wash EVERY brother's feet just in case things aren't right between you two?
I would think a good time of fellowship over a cup of coffee would be able to do the same thing.

No I wash every brother's feet because I am their servant.

Brother Epley, what exactly does that mean?...to be "their servant?"
This is kind of a foreign concept for me coming from a pastor.
What about the women, are you not their servant as well (again, in all spirituality and propriety)?
