I don't. I'm pretty sure my husband does. I ususally forget about them until we receive them. I guess since I don't get one at my work I don't expect it from my husbands jobs but.....there are rumors going around here at my work that they are going to be giving them this year. We'll see.

I work for our church and we get two weeks paid vacation starting out, you get more the longer you are here, I think the secretary in charge of finances gets 4 weeks now. I think that is the limit.

We also get all bank holidays off, the days off around Thanksgiving and Christmas, and they let us off (paid) to go to the district ladies retreat, as well as giving us a little bonus to take with us.

We get a bonus at Christmas, and they also provide health insurance. I don't know of very many churches that provide as well for it's employees.
And before anyone that knows me says that it is because I am family, there are three of us secretaries and I am the only one related to the pastor.

I don't make a whole lot, but I never did anyways as a secretary, and the benefits they provide are better than most other places that I have worked. Also, the environment is much better!

I get a small Christmas bonus, and by the time they take out taxes it's even smaller. My wife gets a better one than I do and she is employed by Catholic Social Services.
I give an offering which goes towards our Pastor's wife since her birthday is in DEC.

I am thankful that I am able to work but the thought of a Christmas bonus was particulary amusing.

About 8 years ago my wife managed a taco bell at the local mall. Every year around a week before Christmas ups or fedex would drop off a huge spiral sliced smoked ham. That was her bonus.

One year I got home from work to find 2 huge spiral sliced smoked hams. So I put one in the fridge and moved the other to the corner of the porch (Porch-December-CT=great fridge, freezer even.

I called her and said, "hey they sent an extra". Next day I get home from work. Two more spiral sliced smoked hams by the door. So I stacked them on the other box and called. "Hi Honey. You got two more Hams again today." She said she would call.

Now here is where it gets good. I get home from work the next day. Two more hams. I now had roughly 80 lbs of dead pig.

So I called her, "Honey, umm. more hams."

She called agin, they professed an error, and when asked what do we do with 5 extra hams? They said "whatever you want."

We gave 4 to the soup kitchen, one to a friend in church, and the other sure was good.

No Christmas here at all. No bonus, no happiness, no joy. I will gather my wife and kids around the cold smouldering fire and pray that happiness may be found elsewhere, perhaps in your hearts, despite the gloom I feel in my heart today.

Hey! Gotta run and get some of this egg nog from a private dairy nearby. We'll see if there's any cheer to be had. Colesterol and carbohydrates!
