Going west is actually a great idea where they are at. I live on the coast, not inland. My are will never see a forest fire...what we get is the smoke and ashes.
Remember folks this is a forest type fire, not an apartment fire. the further west you go in some areas the further you get away from the brush area and the closer you get to nothing but concrete and ocean

San Diego cities are built around and on canyons. It is a big city but also has a country feel as well. We really have the best of everything.
We have not left yet. Right now, the fire is not coming this way...the winds have been cooperating. However, if something was to change, we would leave.
Just announced....513,000 have received mandatory evacuation notices in San Diego alone.

I saw that number at lunch. It said 1200+ homes and businesses had been destroyed.
