Because the fire is coming from the east and you can not proceed that way...you have to go west. There are a lot of concrete areas not near canyons and that to go to.

Sorry...I m on my iPhone and it always does not get my spelling right.
Just west if where we are are populated "concrete" areas to where we could go to be safe and away from bush.

Actually, I wish the winds would change to our normal onshore flow.
JUST RIGHT NOW....we just got a reverse 911 call (where the police call you) to let us know our area has been placed under a voluntary evacuation and to proceed west.

People probably don't realize that any rain we need. We've had very little rainfall at all this year. The Santa Ana winds are so hot and dry that they can dry out brush really quickly anyways. This happens every year but this year is particularly bad

You guys have to realize that San Diego is a huge city and occupies the land near the ocean and then land near low mountains and brush area. Going west is nothing but city and water....this is a forest fire

the very idea, of people on the WEST COAST being told to "proceed west" just strikes me funny.
I can see fox news on the beach with a half million California-ite Refugees all standing in knee deep water on the beaches.
