I thought of the same thing after I posted that. If we know the word then we will be able to discern truth from error. I don't need to learn all about the Trinity to refute it.
How can you refute it then? How can you refute what you don't know? That's like saying "I don't need to learn about history in order to understand it"

And BTW every time you argue with a Trinitarian you ARE learning all about the Trinity...

  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.

It means line them up to the Word, to see if they are from God, the enemy, or humanity.
Nobody said 'take it for a test drive'...either.

And yes, it means line them up to the Word of God....but in order to line them up and see if they are from God you have to....line THEM UP. That means you have to take a LOOK at them and then use the word to determine if they are TRUE or FALSE....exactly what we have been saying Open Mindedness is.

As for opposing false doctrine with the truth of God's word, that's what I try to do.
Excuse me but being open minded is not taking anything in. It's You looking OUT at things and examining them using your intellect, logic and whatever other tools you have for determining truth. To determine biblical truth your tool is the word of God. We are commanded to make sure of all things. Try the Spirits...even the Bereans were commended for testing what Paul said against the word and they openly HEARD Paul...

So maybe I'm a little bit of both.
too open minded? How else would you discover if something is true or not...even your own beliefs?

Let's see, being open minded you listened and look into what was presented to you at some time in your life.

Someone told you needed the holy Ghost in your life , that you could speak in tongues, if you did'nt speak in tongues it was the lake o fire for you.

Many of were open minded and listened to someone tell you that only by being baptized in Jesus nmae could you sins be forgiven/remitted.

You were open minded and listened as someone explained to you that those who did not understand the Mighty God in Christ doctrine just as they were explaining to you, would be forever lost.

You were open minded when told that all who were not oneness pentecostals would dangled in the tormenting flames of hell for all eternity.

Open minded, you accepted the doctrines taught to you that women could not wear red dresses, open toed shoes, or anything shiny on their persons.

Good Greif.....I agree WHOLE HEARTedly being open minded is the slippery slope we should live our lives in fear of.

In my opinion, there's less danger in being open minded than being closed minded.

If I'm caught in a fire, I'll consider all methods of escape; not just one way only.

That tends to be a characteristic of an open minded person!

This thread is so funny!

The last time I had this much fun was when I was ten and punched my big brother. He punched me back, and then I fell on the floor screaming.

My mom came in, took one look at me and whupped the fire out of Andy.

I walked out of the room smiling, and laughed long and loud outside.

(disclaimer) I'm sure he deserved a whuppin' for something anyway.
