When he comes to church, there are some women who dress in clothes that are too tight and too short.
For many years I have had to counsel men who want to be set free from the addiction of pornography.1 For many of them, the addiction started in their preteen years through exposure to the wrong type of magazines and similar situations. One 20 minute exposure to porn has the power to create an addiction. The picture is imprinted on their brain. The more exposures, the more pictures are imprinted and the worse the addiction.

If this man has a problem with lusting the women in the church house, he doesn't have a chance outside the building. Guess he will just have to "puck out his eyes." But, yes each has responsibility submit to God, and to "keep our bodies under submission to God.

And I do know that it is being cracked down on in the UPCI from the FMD for the missionaries NOT to preach standards. Several have had an "early retirement" for refusing to NOT preach what they believe to be scriptural, and what the org supposedly holds as truth.
I'm confused...

Are my comprehensive reading abilities out of whack this afternoon?!

No They are not. My list was mainly non-UPCI, though there are conservative missionaries within the UPCI. But the FMD has began its missions field cleansing of conservative missionaries because of their conservative holiness stand. So yes, you were reading me right. And I am just as confused about a holiness group that tells its conservative missionaries not to preach standards as you are.

Just catching up with this thread. I read the ninety and nine article this week and was offended by it. I agree with Newman and Barb who have said it better than I could say it. We all have a responsibility to God to dress modestly and decently. We all have a responsibility to God to keep our hearts pure and die daily to the flesh.

Actually, Newman, my wife is stating her honest opinion based on her experience as a woman with no dog in the fight and no animosity toward the Apostolic church. She, of course, has never been persecuted by it like you and all the other poor women have.

I am praying for your deliverance!

PJ- Your wife's honest opinion included wondering what planet I was from. I likewise STILL wonder about her to suggest that the majority of women wear bikinis in public (bra and panties). Maybe the majority of teenagers??? But women? Does your wife?

Why doesn't she have a dog in the fight? You come on here with very specific opinion of what women should be but your wife isn't conforming to your ideas is she? (You are the one that brought her into this conversation).

And SHOW ME where I ever said that I had been persecuted. Pray on.

Unless I am mistaken, Phils wife was implying that the majority of women wore bikini's at the beach.

As one that grew up in Tampa, FL, and spent about 6 of my late teen years out of church, and on the beaches of Tampa, Clearwater, and St Pete, I can attest to the fact that most DID wear bikinis. And during the 80's the popular version was "string bikinis". Popular for the girls, as everyone seemed to wear them. Popular for the guys, because they all lusted after the girls that wore them.

I wonder how Jesus could have missed such a hot topic.... Not one iota was said about woman's responsibility to dress modestly lest her brother be tempted. Nada.

Even Peter and Paul's mention of modesty was in the context of economic wealth rather than modesty as most in the church would define it today. But why let the facts get in the way?
I agree. Biblically speaking - men had lust in their hearts way back then, and what was the women wearing? Robes that covered their entire bodies and even their head and faces. I still find it hard to believe that a man can marry a woman and the next morning after their wedding night realize it was her sister?? oops - wrong woman??

Sis. Carol Clemans still was a good speaker and very open minded about subjects that are normally taboo. :sshhh
