I think I can understand your point on Standards.. but concerning women wearing pants.... Do you believe that it's okay for Women to wear pants?
or were you just agreeing with the fact that he said most of the Conservitives would think they were going to Hell for wearing them??
Your premise just made my mind tick...

Randy and Drinking
Randy and Paula both have COG backgrounds and I am sure they heard Wesleyan Holiness preaching in their early years. The COG was leaving the Wesleyan Holiness standards in the early 60's. I do know that they have had some former UPC - Oneness Apostolic background folks in Tampa - in the church and as guests there - but they have NEVER been Oneness. Most trinitarians have never even heard of Oneness except in a very negative way. My first hearing of it was old Bishop S. E. Johnson from The Church of The Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, One Apostolic Square, Philadelphia, PA - I actually drove by the church at 22nd and Bainbridge on Friday! They believed that if Bishop Johnson had not baptized you - you were NOT baptized!
I am shocked that Randy admitted the drinking. I do know that many in their circles drink - but they don't admit it openly. It alienates too many partners and partners are their financial base and they will do just about anything to keep good faithful financial partners. If he did indeed admit it - he is just plain stupid or used very poor judgment. Of course if he IS drinking - then that is very poor judgment too!
The whole thing is sad to me as I have known Randy and Paula to be VERY GIVING people to the tune of many millions. They have helped an awful lot of people in Tampa and I know that for a fact. Feeding, clothing, providing housing, educating, equipping and helping thousands.
I really do not have an ounce of confidence in the low life newspaper reporters so who knows if anything they write is true. Just a bunch of liberal press junkyard dogs.

I'm saying that there is an understanding in Oneness Pentecostalism that a woman who wears pants is either new or backslidden. I do believe that an overwhelming majority among us believe the "pants issue" to be a Heaven or Hell standard. I personally do not believe the issue is key to salvation. However, it is my preference that those in in the church I planted follow the tradition that was given us while in leadership positions. My wife and daughter have never worn a pair in public. We follow this guideline out of respect, not conviction. Same thing with knee length shorts on my boys.
Let me emphasize that even though I follow this tradition, many on AFF would think I am Charismatic and lost because I do not add these traditions as a qualifier for entrance into the body of Christ.
In time, I may change my stance further. But as long as I hold license with the UPCI I will not own a tv, the females in my family will not wear pants, and my boys will not wear shorts in public. That is simple submission, not personal conviction.
Hope that cleared the questions from your mind Randy.

I don't think we ought to bash anyone from the pulpit.
we had a Baptist pastor's daughter visiting our church and loved it.
then on sunday, a minister got up and started bashing the baptist.
she was crushed and approached our pastor- she never returned

FERD there are many many defenders of these people
you have to understand that many on the forum do not think
there is a differnece doctrinally- understand?
my point is, the bashing goes on both ends but neither end will admit it
