Yall are so extreme and irrational that any attempt to bring you back into reality comes across as "always-Trump". I have consistently examined Trump according to his platform, not according to his personal life or past political affiliations. I have maintained that his life in the limelight as a mogul and reality TV star make his flaws more obvious while those of professional politicians are often hidden. Thus my stand has been that he is not any worse or better than the latter. You guys have a "conservative check-list" that you judge him by, and I do not. I judge him by his platform and his cabinet picks, which I give about a B+. I expect flaws and spots here and there of liberalism, like the parental leave garbage. But overall, I find his platform to be one that will help the country and give strict constructionists like myself time to regroup and promote our platform, a chance we might not have had under Hillary.

You guys, on the other hand, dismiss any good his platform or cabinet picks might bring, under the guise of "he doesn't really mean it" or by playing the "Mein Kampf card" or other such silly, irrational extremism. When I see people saying that "NOBODY has lied and acted as bad as Donald J. Trump" or compare him to Sanders while he is picking pretty conservative cabinet members, I know those people have more than one screw loose. Those people are infatuated with the mythological view of GOP conservatism. They are true partisans. They are also ignorant of the true history of the GOP and how it is opposed to everything true conservatives stand for. The best thing that can happen is for both parties to pass away into oblivion.

In the Carrier deal thread, I made the (in my opinion, balanced) comment that I was cautiously optimistic (supportive), but wanted to know more details about the deal (questioning). DB immediately jumped down my throat, that I couldn't let go of Cruz and I was completely deranged about Trump. How's that for balance? So far as I can tell, no Trump supporter ever questioned that "balanced" response to my honest and legitimate query.

Balance isn't just about supporting Trump, it's also about questioning his more questionable actions and comments. When I see that, then I'll consider your advice about "balance".

Perhaps you don't fall into the same category as the others and I should have made that clear. It is fine to question the man and his policies. Nobody should be ostracized for doing so. The "NeverTrump" crowd on here, however, goes beyond simple analysis. They are totally in left-field.
