Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
In New Hampshire news, Public Policy Polling covers the "Texas Firebrand"
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/ted-cruz/
PPP's new New Hampshire poll finds Hillary Clinton with commanding leads over the entire Republican field in the state- she is up by anywhere from 9 to 15 points against the nine GOP contenders we tested her against.
The hopefuls who come closest to Clinton are Rand Paul and Scott Walker, each of whom trail by 9 at 49/40. The ones who do the worst are Chris Christie (51/36) and Ted Cruz (52/37) who each have 15 point deficits.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Ted Cruz update:
Poll tracking across the board by Huffington Post indicates that firebrand Ted Cruz has jumped 10 points in his unfavorability ratings. The worst is 25% favorable, 45% unfavorable by ABC/Post, and his best showing is 28% unfavorable, 22% favorable rating by Gallop back in March. April polls indicate that since March he has rocketed to an average of 38% in the unfavorable category, indicating that he was doing much better in the polls before he actually announced he was running and before he did and said anything. Advice to the Cruz campaign is that to overcome this 8 point deficit he should shut up, smile, and look presidential rather than talk about who he is and what he wants to do. Stay tuned for more.
In related news the 4/16 to 4/19 polling of the Cruz vs Clinton matchup indicates a 60-36 lead with Clinton at +24 vs earlier polling, taken before Cruz outlined his vision, of an achievable Clinton +6. Same advice applies on this as before.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
I like what Rafael Cruz says about Christians needing to get out and vote:
Quote:
“There is a lot of people who are totally unaware of the Christian history of the American Revolution,” said the elder Cruz, who gives a PowerPoint presentation to other pastors dubbed “Reclaiming America: Why Pastors and Christians in General Need to be Involved in the Political Arena.”
“If we look at the Declaration of Independence there are seventeen grievances listed against King George, but what most people don’t know is that each and every one of those grievances were preached in the churches of America before they were complied in the declaration of Independence,” said the elder Cruz. “My friend David Barton has said that the Declaration of Independence could be considered a series of sermon summaries. So it was preachers from the pulpit calling out King George for the atrocities the British were perpetrating on the American people. That is our history.”

I agree with those that say it will be hard to get people to vote who have no voting record. And many Christians believe that politics is a dirty business, which is also true. However, it is a ridiculous statement to make that "God allowed so-and-so to win" when many Christians stay home and don't vote. We are, essentially, allowing those that do not share our values to run our country.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Our anti-Semitic member doesn't look around and see that ALL the candidates are trending down as of today. Rubio having a very small bump up.
See graph:

And for our readers. I like Ted Cruz very well. I like him better than anyone and would like others to know him too, because the nation doesn't know him well enough. However, as I stated, I will vote for whoever the Republican nominee is, except for Jeb Bush. I am against Common Core. He can say it is not a top-down federal control, but it is.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
well, a valid pov might be that many committed Christians see an unacceptable dichotomy in also pledging allegiance to a flag; but i admit that this was not an easy pov to come by. Also, you don't think that God ultimately chooses a leader?

I think he did when Israel was a theocracy. I don't necessarily believe that today. It would stand to reason that whoever gets the most votes wins. If Christians don't vote, well...

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
i think it should at least be considered that we have a lot of indications that what FDR said was dead on; "Presidents are selected, not elected." The potus does not depend upon the popular vote anyway, by law!
