CPAC 2013 "Transcending Race" Panel
http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...bal-chaos.html
I really wish the GOP would do a better job of dealing with race-related subjects but the I'm afraid that the subject has become so toxic that the GOP will never make any progress and eventually, we'll lose the progress we have made as a party, and even as a nation, when it comes to race relations.

Re: CPAC 2013 "Transcending Race" Panel
Low minorities in the party is not just based on racism. Being perceived as antiwelfare is a main reason. For many being antiwelfare is being racist in their indoctrinated minds. Many have a "they won't take car of us"mentality. Funny thing is those against entitlements are not advocating it against minorities only.

welfare is not the main reason. what about policies that fight poverty like urban development zones? where are the pro job policies instead of tax cuts for the rich when there is such income inequality?

Notice I said "perceived'? Many are trained that if a group speaks against entitlements they are speaking against them. True or not doesn't matter it's been drilled in them. Those in poverty will be the biggest fighters to overcome it. Give me example of pro job policies that you think work, how is socking it to the rich provide jobs? I think rich pay more then people think.

Oh more government. not sure if their is enough rich people for more programs. One thing I don't hear people talk about is like 48% of Americans don't pay taxes. That is ridiculous, everyone should pay taxes. Control spending, cut back on entitlements and caption taxes from those 48% this would help more then just socking it to the rich.

Rick Santorum, campaigning for President in 2012:
"I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money..."
Truthseeker, unfortunately racism is part of it. It's not just the perception of black people, misperceiving the attitudes of some white male Republicans.

He made his stupid statement and people clapped.

Newt Gingrich while campaigning for President, 2012:
"I will go to the NAACP Convention and tell the African-American community why they should demand paychecks instead of foodstamps."
