Amen.

"I do not serve a God who day and night roams the earth seeking whom he may devour."

Awesome.

Re: Rejoicing In the Sabbath:

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28

This was prophesied by Isaiah in 22:12 - "To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear."

The Sabbath was a type and shadow of the Holy Ghost, in which we find our rest.

Let us not esteem one day above the other, but find eternal rest in our Lord Jesus Christ each day.

For the ungodly. But not for those who are His children and embrace His coming, right?

When you see Paul visiting the Synagogues in Acts you will notice it was for the purpose of preaching Yeshua as the Messiah. I looked the places up years ago and thats what I discovered.

Also the Synagogue was the center of Jewish life so it would not be unusual for any Jew to go there.

My point is that these same Jewish APOSTLES concluded that Gentiles were not under the law of Moses. Its obvious from James statement that there were thousands of Messianic Jews who WERE still observing the law.
I agree we are not under the Law of Moses.

I agree. I did a bit of research because Mom was witnessing to a SA. Jesus is my Sabbath rest because He fulfilled all of the Law. Further being a gentile, I do more than reverence God one day a week. His worship is to be constant. Thus for us it is a daily rest that we observe not a weekly.

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

No, he surprises us all. But the righteous will keep their clothes on.

Is Jesus your righteousness if you commit adultery?

Those who honor the Sabbath worship Him daily and recieve the blessings of obedience and those blessings that flow from the Sabbath.

I would like to see this argument carried to a reconciliation of the 4th Commandment, if possible, as I pretty much agree with the "spiritual rest" Christ provides, even if this ignores a weekly, physical rest. But again, I feel I am somewhat forced to personally insert "Commandment negated" at the end, except by what comes across as some mental gymnastics, "Christ is our Sabbath," or "We are no longer under Law," both true enough as far as they go. I still go to church on Sunday, when I go...tried the local "7th Day" people, but yikes, talk about...well, just yikes.

I will say that observing the Sabbath, which I have only been doing for about a year now, has brought unforseen benefits. It is a quiet witness on what I see has become one of our "bizziest" days; a witness to Aquila's post, below.

Some thoughts...

Matthew 5:17-19 ESV
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

The Law of God hasn't been abolished...only the Law of Moses. Concerning the Sabbath, the Law of God states:

Exodus 20:8-11 ESV
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
