Glad to be alive. Fell 12 feet
Just a note of praise. I was checking the parsonage roof today for damage from our recent ice storm and clearing some fallen limbs.
I'm always careful on ladders but must not have checked the foooting, as it was apparently on some ice.
I remember the ladder going out from underneath me and the thud of my head landing on the frozen ground.
Pastor's wife came when she heard the noise of ladder crashing and after I asked her about 7 times what I was doing on the roof she called Pastor who took me to hospital.
I could not remember what else I had done today and was shocked that it was 3 PM
X Rays showed no broken bones, although I am quite sore tonite. My shin, knee and shoulder took most of the brunt.
A cat scan of my head found nothing...er should I rephrase that.
My memory is coming back. They say that is what a concussion does.
A few inches the other way, my head would have crashed onto the AC unit or the concrete pad it sets on.
Somewhere in America today, I'd imagine, someone fell off a ladder and did not get to go home to their family. Their life ended.
I am glad to be alive today. I don't remember everytrhing yet, but I'm pretty sure my last words on the ride down was, Oh God !
Makes ya appreciate life a little more somehow. Thanks be to God, who always cause us to triumph.

Freeatlast, glad to hear your angels were on duty!
Be carefull. If you had a concussion, you are still at risk.
I am thankful the Lord was with you!
About that Cat Scan finding nothing?
How can they be so accurate?
God Bless!

Lota pain in my shoulder seems to be the worst of it.
Told the pastor on the way to the hospital i couldn't remember the sermon or speaker from this past Sunday.
But then I usally can't ;-)
No really, we had a retired missionary Dan Scott, who spoke, but i could barely recall much at the time, Sunday is coming back to me know...but it is weird feeling not being to recall things so recent.

Wow! I am glad you are OK, aside from the memory loss.
As a chimney sweep I am on roofs daily - including four to six story condominium structures. By the grace of God I have never fallen from a roof in 20 years and thousands of jobs. Many mishaps can be prevented, but I am not so naive to think I am exempt. It can indeed happen to anyone.
God Bless You!
