My good wife bought me a two cd set called the essential Earl Scruggs which spans Earl recordings with Bill Monroe to his recordings with Lester Flatt and his more recent electric music recordings.
I'm listening to it now, I just love banjo music do you?

that kid was the best banjo player in the world. he probably couldn't read or write or say a three syllable word, but he shredded on that banjo, he was probably a snake handling pentecostal to boot.
