Witnessing at restaurant/cafe/etc table
If you go to a table to eat and others are there, or if you are sitting at a table eating and others sit at same table, or right beside you, have you tried to witness to them?
If so, how did you start a conversation about Jesus, or salvation?
I'm just looking for ideas how to do it
I've said things like "thank you Jesus for a great meal", or if somebody leaves suddenly, I may say something like "God bless you".
At a salad bar, if I know someone is a Christian, or at least confess the Lord, I have said Praise the Lord, or say something about the Lord, however, I'm curious about while sitting at table.
Thanks for any used ideas or experiences

Re: Witnessing at restaurant/cafe/etc table
Every one is different, but I would personally first pray to God to put in my way people to witness and then make them a disciple. The Lord will move you then to do some public speaking at the right place, when people have a willing heart to hear at least.
Frequent the same food place for a while and be friendly, loving, and caring, and look for people that frequent that place as well. You can't be shy. Then at some point you can then out of the blue tell them you are christian and would like to invite them to a christian evangelistic event, if there is any. Or if they tell you they are not doing well you can offer them your prayers. If then they like it you can then mention that you are willing to tell them more about Jesus, and you are willing to meet to discuss it through the Bible.
Do your best to be ready to respond after baptism. Getting them baptized is just the beginning. Disciple them or find somebody that can.
Having somebody born again into our family is a beautiful thing to experience.

Re: Witnessing at restaurant/cafe/etc table
I give thanks before and after eating. I have engaged in Bible discussions with family or friends, and others nearby usually can hear somewhat about what is being discussed. But I have found about 99% of people don't want to interact with strangers for any reason whatsoever except maybe a short comment while standing in line or if something happens that gets everybody's attention. Very rare for anyone to try to interact with another dinner party (except singles trying to hook up, or somebody soliciting trinkets or watches, or somebody's drunk as a skunk and is about to get a free ride in a police car, or something aberrant like that).
People are way more insulated from others nowadays, compared to when I was younger.
Of course, I don't eat out that much at restaurants anyway.

What I HAVE found, is that God will often send someone your way who will mention some issue they have, which gives you an opportunity to pray for them and testify. That is usually much more fruitful. People respond positively (usually) when you just act like a Christian and offer to help out in whatever way you can.

Thank you! I have found it to be the same way also.
I was just asking in case someone had other ways to start a conversation about the Lord.
lol, I was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost before a lot of people here were born, but I'm not afraid to ask for new ideas or experiences.
At times, I eat lunch at the local senior center so most generally someone will be at the same table as I. Yesterday I wanted to say something about the Lord, but some men were talking about things. When they stopped, I looked at a man across the table and just said, "Thank you Jesus for a full meal and a full stomach!" He laughed and said yes, but the other men just kept eating and didn't respond at all.
Any way, thank you all and God bless!

If they are at your table, just ask "So, what do you think about Jesus?"
