I am not going to post the link to this, as it can be found readily enough, but somehow I missed this detail in the Lewinsky/Clinton affair.
Here is the snippet from the article

"It was the start of a relationship that would find the two meeting in secret once a week for almost two years."

The tale spun by the media (as I remember) was that this affair was just limited to a few occasions.

Prove it. Besides, he wasn't President when this allegedly happened, he did not do it in the Oval Office, and he did not lie under oath about it to obstruct justice.

As despicable as I find his behavior to be at times, this has absolutely no correlation to the topic at hand. His payment was from his own money, not that of the tax payers. Also - as was previously pointed out - this did not happen while he was a member of the government. Thirdly, there's a significant difference between sleeping with a prostitute doing her job, versus a sitting President taking advantage of his position and authority to entice a young intern into giving him fellatio (amongst other things).

While both are immensely immoral, I tend to find the latter more repulsive.

I have always understood it to be a long term affair. I don't believe it was every week for two years, as she was relocated to the Pentagon and wasn't near him. I really feel sorry for her. Yes, she was an adult, but sometimes people just make mistakes. If Clinton had that drawing power, that power can be very real. He was the President and should have taken the higher road. I know that she tempted him at one point to further the relationship, and I think she was caught up in it all - the bubble. He should have respected the Office and walked away.

Even the media talks about what a drawing power Bill had on people. They still like him today. They may not after her documentary is over in this #MeToo era.

I actually put more of the power to stop the thing on the President, with all of the ramifications that he should have known would ensue being in a position before all the world to see.

His history shows that he was used to engaging in this manner and carried on with the behaviour. He never, from the beginning, cared to point out the position she was placing herself in. He was older, in authority and should have taken that initiative. In that context, I put more blame on him than a young, starry, eyed intern.
