The Minority Report

UPCI FACEBOOK PAGE:
Racism is a sin. The UPCI strongly opposes racism in all of its forms. Check out our recent report, Minority Participation in the UPCI: bit.ly/2E91QMm , and our 2008 position paper, Racial and Ethnic Affirmation: http://bit.ly/2yrr1Ua

Missouri Congregation Quits UPC

Missouri Congregation Quits United Pentecostal Church in Video Protesting Racism

“A controversial debate about racism in the United Pentecostal Church International is now raging in the denomination after an interracial couple who led one of the denomination's churches in Missouri for 15 years announced their exit from the group on Sunday.”

Re: The Minority Report

Seeing a lot of SJW talking points in that article.

Seems shes not opposed to using statistics to back up her position so at least shes not one of those people that think numerical statistics are racist.

What kind of profiling is she talking about?

Profiling by cops or profiling in the church?

They complained that the UPCI approach to the black community focuses on "poverty" and that's racist. Meanwhile, just below that article we have this:

Well-known social justice advocate and pastor of Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina, William J. Barber II, has been announced as one of 25 people to receive a MacArthur "genius" fellowship that comes with an unrestricted $625,000 grant.
...
Barber is being recognized for "building broad-based fusion coalitions as part of a moral movement to confront racial and economic inequality."

The moral movement is the Poor People's Campaign which makes a national call for moral revival.

Re: The Minority Report

Why do I have this nagging suspicion there is more to the exit of this church than just racism?
