I was in another car accident
Came to a stop. Car hit me from behind, pushing my vehicle into the truck in front of me. Car is totaled. I literally just lost everything. Trying to process this.

A friend is telling me to get an attorney. Another friend said let my insurance handle it.

Yes! Lawyer up immediately! The insurance will settle for as less as possible and the lawyer will look out for any treatment you need in the ongoing recovery.

I’m afraid to get an ambulance chaser that will settle for whatever just so he gets some money.
I don’t need treatment.
Do I notify my insurance, or does the attorney do that?
I’m getting different answers... so not sure how to proceed.

The lawyer will take care of everything. Find a person who can recommend an attorney that they trust. I had a rear end collision and my attorney took care of everything and it went really well.

Injury surfaces sometimes way later. You may think your out of the woods. Yet, as time moves on you may come up with an issue that is directly related to the accident.

Which is why a lawyer is best to negotiate. He will get a huge chunk out of the settlement, but the insured wouldn't have received that much negotiating on their own anyway.
