2 Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

The apostle is making his statement clear that through the Holy Ghost can attain freedom from a traumatic past. We are given a sound mind when we put on the mind of Christ. The power of God works through us assuring us we are not alone. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

Eccl 9:3 Yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

The natural carnal man who only wears religion as a cloak has a mind of madness. Romans 8:5 separate the two from each other, the natural man, and the spiritual man. One has a mind which is renewed and is connected to the Holy Ghost. The other is chained to Adam, who made a free choice to disobey and live and think like a beast. When naturalists see animal traits in mankind it is because natural man who lives separately from God acts like a beast Ecclesiastes 3:18.

Understanding the natural human mind is a study in carnality.

Eccl 1:17 And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.

1 Corinthians 9:27 tells us that the apostle was disciplined, and in his Christian walk trained like an athlete. Not as in human discipline, but by keeping himself under subjection to the Holy Ghost. I was told in another thread, that if Jesus "tarried" to heal someone of their tortured past, and quiet the mind. They should seek a PROFESSIONAL counselor, armed with hookus pookus butter beans and wild okra. Yet, Luke 18:5 has our wonderful counselor instructing us to use importunity earnestly seeking GOD for our victory over the enslavement of the devil. The sweet words of 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 assure us that we have the tools to overcome every single obstacle which would try to bring us back into the bondage of sin and death. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:37. Religious leaders ill equipped to counsel? I must of met another set of elders in my life. I have had great words spoken into my life at times when I needed to hear them the most.

Jesus is still the answer. He was the answer 2,000 years ago and he is still the answer 2,000 years later.

The whole psychiatric movement is less than a 100 years old. From the looks of it, it is less than a band aid on a shotgun wound.

Please don't paint me as someone who doesn't believe in divine power. Brother, I do. I've seen it at work. I've experienced it. So, please understand that I'm not talking about denying divine power.

I've also seen miraculous healing take time. I've also seen prayers for healing go unanswered. I have a few questions, maybe your answers will help me understand your position better. And maybe my questions will help you understand where I'm coming from.

1.) Does Jesus miraculously heal in response to every prayer for miraculous healing 100% of the time?

2.) If Jesus doesn't heal one miraculously and immediately in response to prayer, can you share the various reasons as to why? Is it always their "fault", such as their lack of faith? Or can there be other reasons, including a condition continuing based on God's will?

3.) If one has prayed and prayed, and miraculous healing has yet to manifest, why would it be a sin to seek professional help (doctor or counselor) to help cope with symptoms until said healing is manifest?

*Please note: I am absolutely against using psychotropic medications. I am also against hypnotism and subliminal messaging. And I'd strongly advise that any child of God seek out a Christian counselor should they feel they need a counselor.

Jesus is the only cure. He is, was, and always will be. However, until Jesus miraculously heals, is it a sin for a Christian to manage symptoms for conditions such as PTSD through counseling and various therapies that have proven to benefit those with the condition?

I honestly don't know much about it. I'd typically advise to stay away from any powerful psychotropic medications. Would you mind elaborating?

Simply put, We will all die!!! One cause is accidental death the other natural death. God will not heal us 100% of the time or there would be no natural death for us believers. Mental illness is rather new, and there is much misinformation.

What about a therapy like EMDR for those struggling with the symptoms of PTSD? There isn't any medication or hypnosis. It's about having your eye movements activate both sides of your brain and reprocessing painful memories with positivity, blessing, or affirmation. Thoughts?
