Jewish Organizations Defend Steve Bannon

The Zionist Organization of America called on the Anti Defamation League to apologize to Steve Bannon for falsely charging that he is an Anti Semite.

http://zoa.org/2016/11/10342353-zoa-...-anti-semitic/

Also other prominent Jews like Alan Dershowitz came out in support of Bannon as a strong supporter of Israel and Jews.

Sean Hannity is reporting that the Anti Defamation League has just apologized for falsely accusing Bannon of this charge.

So Bannon ISNT a racist apparently. Will there be any apologies here on AFF for the false charge?

Re: Jewish Organizations Defend Steve Bannon

Ironic.

Bannon has been the subject of dishonest headlines since being appointed Sr. Advisor, and now the ADL is the subject of a dishonest headline from the ZOA.

Words, phrases, context are all important when reading statements. Unfortunately, people tend to miss when they're trying to create a sensational headline.

Example: Katherine Krueger of Bloomberg tweeted: "Steve Bannon in Nov: "We have too many Asian CEOs." She included a link to a WaPo article and a screenshot of a quote by Bannon. Bannon's alleged quote was: "When two-thirds or three-quarters of the CEOs in Silicon Valley are from South Asia or from Asia, I think ...." (Bannon said, not finishing the sentence) "A country is more than an economy. We're a civic society."

Now, please show me where in that quote did Bannon say "We have too many Asian CEOs?"

He did not. It was a false and dishonest tweet and story.

Now, on the other hand, the OP says "The Zionist Organization of America called on the Anti Defamation League to apologize to Steve Bannon for falsely charging that he is an Anti Semite."

However, per the ADL statement, the ADL did NOT call Bannon an anti-Semite. Read the ADL statement and tell me where the ZOA gets that the term anti-Semite is used to describe Bannon.

"""It is a sad day when a man who presided over the premier website of the Alt Right, a loose-knit group of white nationalists and unabashed anti-Semites and racists - is slated to be a senior staff member in the 'people's house,' said Jonathan A. Greenblatt, ADL CEO. "We call on President-elect Trump to appoint and nominate Americans committed to the well-being of all our country's people and who exemplify the values of pluralism and tolerance that makes our country great."""
http://www.adl.org/press-center/pres...l#.WC4qt6Pn-Uk

Did you catch that? Bannon is not described as an anti-Semite in the statement. He's described as presiding over the website of the Alt-right, "a loose-knit group of white nationalists and unabashed anti-Semites and racists." Presiding over a group which includes anti-Semites is not the same as BEING anti-Semite.

Here's something the ADL has had on its website since Bannon was named Sr Advisor, 11/14. This is important to the story because it shows the ZOA is being dishonest with its claim.

""""We are not aware of any anti-Semitic statements from Bannon.

While there is a long fact pattern of evidence that Breitbart served as a platform for a wide range of bigotry and there is some controversy related to statements from Mr. Bannon’s divorce proceedings in 2007, we are not aware of any anti-Semitic statements made by Bannon himself. In fact, Jewish employees of Breitbart have challenged the characterization of him and defended him from charges of anti-Semitism. Some have pointed out that Breitbart Jerusalem was launched during his tenure.

Nevertheless, Bannon essentially has established himself as the chief curator for the alt right. Under his stewardship, Breitbart has emerged as the leading source for the extreme views of a vocal minority who peddle bigotry and promote hate.""""

Again, words, phrases, contexts matter. The ADL did not call Bannon anti-Semite, that is untrue.

This is important and it is true - Breitbart has attracted a large group of the Alt-Right. Even though there is nothing Bannon has done openly, other than being a bully, the site has attracted these people. You can see that in the comments section.

I would agree with that assessment.
However, why have they been "attracted"?
I would state they have been attracted because of illegal immigration and the issue it has become.

I stopped listening when his intro song on the radio became, "We'll put a boot in your a**, it's the American way". Not only was it crude and unnecessary, but it was completely beneath him. That disgusted me more than I care to go into, and I was already fairly tired of his usual shtick anyway, so I stopped listening. I might catch a snippet from him now and then, but I don't ever sit down and listen to a full show anymore. And I've never seen his TV show, except in snippets on Youtube.

Re: Jewish Organizations Defend Steve Bannon

Bannon and his ilk prey on the prejudices, fears and hate of others. Trump used this tactic during the primaries and the racists came out of the woodwork to volunteer for his campaign.

The idea of playing on people's hate didn't originate with Trump.

"Let the grassroots turn on the hate..."
Bannon in 2014

"It's the only way to get them (Republican leaders) to do their duty."

http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...ders-c-ts.html

Today's racists are trying to be smart about achieving their desired goals: stir the fear and hatred up inside people and we will manipulate them to achieve our goals.

This tactic is not new.
It has always been a dirty way to achieve political goals, through hate.

Based on what I have read, heard and seen with my own eyes, I am not apologizing for calling Bannon a racist.

He has specifically used hate to manipulate people!
