Wrong. Very wrong.

When we start erasing historical figures because they owned slaves, then Washington and Jefferson are in play.

I do not care for Jackson on how he handled the South Carolina nullification crisis and stating that States could not secede. I'm neutral on the "Trail of Tears" thing. But Jackson's greatest contribution was defeating the national bank and driving Clay the Whig Party into oblivion. For that alone he deserves to have his face on a 20. Sadly, the Whig Party was reincarnated as the Republican Party with a Clay protégé (Lincoln) ascending to the throne and using his private army to impose an American Empire on us.

As for Tubman, she would hold a gun to the head of any slave that tried to back out on running away. Maybe we should take FDR off of the nickel and put her there instead. Leave Jackson alone.

Thousands of Indians were robbed of their property and put on a forced march.
These were individuals who had title to their property, many were farmers and some even had the right to vote.

On that I agree with you.
I detest Andrew Jackson.
However, the effort to replace him is not driven by the urge to honor Tubman, but by the urge to belittle the past, in my opinion.
