Guilty verdict in Chris Kyle case

Life in prison, no parole.
Quote:
Man convicted in deaths of 'American Sniper' author, friend

Since prosecutors didn't seek the death penalty in the capital murder case, the 27-year-old receives an automatic life sentence without parole in the deaths of Kyle and Kyle's friend, Chad Littlefield.

There will be an appeal when the Sniper loses center stag and the defense will be that while the trial was in progress the movie was #1 at the box office and the guy couldn't get a fair and impartial jury.

They better file a change of venue - out of Texas. LOL!

Don't know if he would be safe in any state. Well, maybe in Massachusetts.

They tried for a change of venue, but the judge refused it, that's another reason for an appeal.

I didn't follow the trial, just waited for news on the verdict. I don't think they could get another appeal. American Sniper is slated as the highest grossing war movie of all time. That won't be going away.

I agree with the verdict. I doubt the defense would win on appeal.

in Texas, an AUTOMATIC appeal comes with the death penalty, I'm not sure about Life Without Parole, but the media attention and the Sniper movie being seen by almost all the potential jurors, should be enough for an appeal.

Another reason they didn't seek the death penalty?

Bound to have had some influence on the prosecutor's decision.
