Uninsured Rate Hits New Low In 2014!
Ten of the 11 states with the biggest declines in their uninsured rates accepted the health care law's Medicaid expansion, which provides safety-net coverage for low-income residents, mainly adults with no children living at home. Topping the list were Arkansas and Kentucky, with double-digit decreases.

This is good news for our country!
Obamacare is proving to be successful!

You will see.
10 years, 20 years from now, if nothing in the law changes, you will see that it was a good thing and yet another example of God's Grace on America under President Obama.

Eight Groups Harmed by the ACA’s Flawed Policies
February 23, 2015
8. The Uninsured. After a decade of full implementation, the CBO estimates that 31 million people will be without insurance in 2025.[17] The ACA requires Americans to purchase government-approved health coverage or pay an individual mandate penalty. Although the majority of uninsured will qualify for an exemption, millions will not. In fact, the CBO expects that in 2016, 4 million individuals will face the mandate penalty, totaling $4 billion.[18] Of those facing the penalty, 69 percent are expected to be below 400 percent of the federal poverty level.

More people have insurance because the law requires it

That seems to be true.
As much as it saddens me to say it.

Obamacare helps the middle class, huh?
Let's let the middle class speak for themselves on how this "grace from God" called Obamacare has helped them. These are comments from middle class people who reacted to the very news of "increased coverage" this thread addresses.....
Quote:
My healthcare coverage ran out on December 31, I called Blue Cross and asked them why, they said the policy I had was no longer offered, but I could go on the exchange and shop for another...the same basic health plan comparable to what I had...was 6000 deductible (compared to 1000 before)and the premium was almost 200 more a month...talk about a rip off...this administration needs to be thrown in jail...we have criminal minds making our laws for us.
|
Quote:
What rubbish. My insurance has doubled each year since this #$%$ law. Now they are all set up to seize bank accounts for those who refuse to participate. Now we have articles like this stating your insurance MAY increase if the government has the guts to do the right thing and rid us of this tyrannical law. Hey, guess what genius, the people responsible for this law belong in prison, along with the insurance companies from which this law was spawned from....
|
Quote:
Many of us saw the ridiculous increase in our company provided healthcare opportunity because of Obummercare. I am one who does not have coverage now because the healthcare companies are just as criminal as the federal government, and with the ACA rates just as much, why have any at all. It is cheaper to pay the fine, which by the way is illegal anyway. How can you fine or tax someone who has not bought a product???? Replace all of them.
|
Quote:
Obamacare was a fiasco from the beginning. My deductibles went up, my out of pocket went up, and my premiums went up 32% in one year. The President broke the law when ramming this down America's throat. He and all his cronies lied to the American people, but they thought that was ok because the American public is "too stupid" to even know. The rollout was a complete disaster costing the taxpayers millions. We need a new president in the worse way before Obama's progressive, socialist ideas completely ruin this country.

I own a small business who can't afford to dole out insurance and one of my employees just got enrolled on CoveredCA. He showed me the plan, with his subsidies he pays $75 a month through Kaiser. Sounds good until you read the deductibles are $6200 max out of pocket. So, in reality he better not get sick or need something that cost $2000 cause he is going to have to pay that.
The last year that I covered myself and family (before my wife got benefits through her job) I took the gamble with Kaiser and went with a deductible plan and I tore my knee up and had to pony up the $5000 deductible. I was lucky that we had the money, but some of these people who think they are covered are in for a shock when they find out they have to pony up most of their visits.

The insurance I once had through my employer was decent, with a $250 deductible. Now, this Obamawhodon'tcare insurance has a deductible of over $6,000 and covers very little. Since it is just me and I am on a very limited income, I will just pay the penalty at the end of the year and move on with my life. I have not seen a doctor since 2005, have Social Security but too young for Medicare, and with that, I hope my health holds out

I personally have lost and cannot afford insurance, for the first time in 53 years. Members of my family also have lost long time plans. The new insurance for me personally is almost as much as we make. I don't know anyone who is happy with it, less coverage, more money, less doctors on the plan you can finally get to purchase. If 11 mil signed up, 10.5 probably lost it from prior coverage and the others are subsidized because of some minority clause or something. Average white man and my subsidies are nothing. Our income puts us below the so called poverty level. Agencies tell us that we now can get Medicaid and such, they (Medicaid) tell us nope, go to the exchange. Circles and idiots that make them. And let's not forget, go to get a new job young I voted for Obama twice America, only part time ( we have tried) so they do not have to provide and you have to go to the open market, or pay the tax fine, I hope it is repealed. Today.

My husband has the lowest premium plan available for our state with a $5,000 deductible. Together, he and I make about $50,000 a year. He works for a mine that is in the process of starting up and most of the employees at this time are foreign, so the company is going to have insurance sometime in the near future, just not yet. marketplace insurance is killing us--we can budget nothing extra into our monthly expenses except for rent, utilities, car payment, groceries and--health insurance. Oh, except for the occasional dr bills that we have to pay because the marketplace insurance does not pay for anything that we need unless one of us has a heart attack or something.I would like to know where the "affordable" part of the Affordable Healthcare Act comes in? Affordable for whom?

Quote:
Obamacare has already been devastating. I'm self-employed and my insurance went from $850 per month for a PPO with $2K deductible and both our GP and my Orthopedic Surgeon covered with a $25 co-pay. Now we would be paying $1200 per month for a poorer policy that doesn't include our doctor or my orthopedic surgeon. The deductible would be $5K !!! We received the one year extension which will run out next month. We are going to go uninsured this year and keep our fingers crossed. With the new ridiculous ultra-high deductible, all these policies amount to are is #$%$ catastrophic policies.
Do the math! $1200 X 12 months = $14,400 per year plus $5K for the deductible = $19,400 per year before anything is covered!?!?!? If you aren't on welfare and getting the subsidy that the rest of us are paying, just bend over and grab your ankles!n

I'm a 62 year old man, yet I am FORCED to pay for maternity care and other female related services. Good planning Barry. By the way, my income is such that because of my high monthly insurance premium, I am now having trouble buying food, yet I don't qualify for food stamps. Before Obamacare I was doing fine and didn't need any help. Remember what Ronald Reagan said were the most feared words in the English language " Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help you".

ACA ruined my life. Wife and I are in early 50's, good health. Make jointly $42 K per year. Our health care cost is about $1500 a month with ACA. That is with a lousy $6500 deduct and 70/30% coverage after that.
pre Obama we paid about $100 a month apiece for $5000 K deduct.
We now have NO money for anything nice. No trips, no nice food just a #$%$ health insurance plan. We hear that the crackhead son of one of our friends gets it for free. Thanks again, I know I feel better helping losers and illegals.

I am SICK to death of the B.S. that is "Obamacare". I am an insurance professional, have been for 37 years. I own an insurance agency in CA and MY group health policy is with Anthem. I am speaking to you as a customer, not a representative broker for Anthem.
Anthem has INCLUDED my group health insurance as a Covered California plan. I assure you IT IS NOT. Anthem reports my policy to the government under the member ID number as ACA, but the group # reflects the true plan, one that would NOT be included in ACA. Again, I DO NOT have an ACA plan as my agency wrote our policy!
I found out about the ID# reflecting ACA policy from Standford Hospital, who DENIED me an appointment to a specialist there because I had an ACA plan that is not accepted at Standford. Two specialists in my county also advised my MEMBER ID# reflects ACA. After investigation as a consumer, I discovered that I and all of my staff are INCLUDED in those ACA numbers wrongfully!
Don't believe the statistics, people! My office is included in those numbers and I am certain I am not the only one.
Also, Anthem will NOT answer this question: was MY SS# encrypted prior to the hack? I have asked that question to many, many people at Anthem, both on the phone and in writing and not one of them will answer Yes, or No.....I assume that is for a reason. One that can be financially impactful to all of it's subscribers.

"The Urban Institute estimated that about 8 million people, including hundreds of thousands with employer-based plans, could lose their coverage---reversing all of the work the law has done to drive down the uninsured rate."
But earlier in the article:
"According to Gallup, the uninsured rate dropped from 17.3 to 12.9 percent in 2014, with tens of millions of people gaining health coverage through Obamacare’s health exchanges as well as the law’s Medicaid expansion."
If tens of millions of people have, in fact, gained insurance as a result of the ACA, how would losing 8 million undo all the "good" Obamacare has done?
An exaggeration is a lie, and if the author lied about this, it casts serious doubts about the credibility of the entire article. If you're going to lie, at least keep the falsehoods consistent.
Of course, the state about "tens of millions" is ridiculous on its face. Not even the most ardent supporter of the administration is claiming this number. The bias of this article is also evident by its reference to the "King" case as "infamous."

ACA
1. Created with built in misrepresentation.
2.Voted in by Democrats who couldn't tell what was in the law.
3. So good, the president had to lie and sugar coat the reality to calm the American people.
4.Wasted 100's of millions in junk website work.
5.Changed at several key times so our president and Democrat party could avoid political backlash.
6.Forced many thousands off their coverage and made them buy into ACA.
7.Penalties via taxes for anyone who doesn't buy into the ACA Ponzi scheme
8.Panalties via taxes for anyone that has great insurance as compensation for their work
9. Has done nothing to drive down the cost of medical treatment as other counties have done.
10. has never been fully embraced by the majority of Americans
11.Had Democrat politicians distancing themselves during the mid-term elections
One last thing -- the article states that the uninsured in the U.S. is now at a seven-year low. How long, again, has Obama been president?
|
Quote:
The enrollment numbers are mostly lies. The Administration now boasts that 11 million have gotten insurance on the exchanges. They don't tell you that 6 million of those already had insurance they liked but which didn't comply with Obamacare..you know, the requirement to pay for maternity care even if you are 62. Of the other 5 million, most got Medicaid for free which would have happened with or without Obamacare, leaving just a million or so which got coverage for the first time. And 80 percent of those got it with a subsidy paid for by other taxpayers. A stunning success when you factor in that everyone has to comply by law, like it or not.

obama is saying, "So far, so good." Of course, he'll be out of office when his signature healthcare plan splatters on the concrete.
