Mike Lee & Ted Cruz not to blame for Reid's Noms
In case anyone is following what is going on in the Senate concerning the "cromnibus" bill.
So, here we are with the GOP infighting debate about "nominations" instead of a united fight against Obama's amnesty. Gee, why would Dems push that?
GOP Establishment and Dems are blaming Ted Cruz's point of order and forced immigration vote on Reid's pushing his nominations forward.
Sen. McConnell has known for weeks that Sen. Reid planned to move forward on these nominations. Maybe he failed to inform his caucus. It was very clear Reid never intended to adjourn without jamming his nominations. Everyone on the Hill knew it but is pretending otherwise to smear Cruz and Lee.
My question - Why are Republicans so bent on attacking Ted Cruz and not the Obama Administration?
Ted Cruz Forced the Senate to vote on Obama's Immigration Plan. He won by putting Republicans on record.
Quote:
“While the Senate considers the CRomnibus spending bill, all we've done was simply request to hold a vote on a measure to stop President Obama's amnesty,” Cruz said in a Facebook post about his and Lee’s efforts on Friday evening. “Instead, Majority Leader Harry Reid is holding a series of votes today for the sheer purpose of blocking that vote on Obama's amnesty. Harry Reid's last act as Majority Leader is to, once again, act as an enabler for President Obama, by blocking this vote on the President's amnesty. He is going to an embarrassing length to tie up the floor to obstruct debate and a vote on this issue because he knows amnesty is unpopular with the American people, and he doesn't want the Democrats on the record as supporting it.”

As Mike Lee says in this video - "It would have been political malpractice for Reid not to do confirm the nominees before the year was over."
Nice try GOP Establishment. Anyone believing your lies are who Jonathan Gruber was speaking to -"stupid".

Re: Mike Lee & Ted Cruz not to blame for Reid's No
Establishment RINOs can count Jennifer Rubin as media ally, along with Fox News.
Quote:
So-Called WashPost 'Conservative' Blogger Shreds Ted Cruz as 'Justifiably Hated By His Peers'
The most dishonest advertising in The Washington Post isn’t selling soap or shoes or automobiles. It doesn’t come phonier than this: “Jennifer Rubin writes the Right Turn blog for The Post, offering reported opinion from a conservative perspective.”
Rubin spent 2012 insisting that every conservative presidential contender was unelectable except Mitt Romney, who was neither conservative nor electable, as it turned out. Rubin’s still at it, as in her latest screed from Sunday, headlined “Senate passes spending, GOP still despises Ted Cruz: The cromnibus passes despite Ted Cruz's ego trip.”
Which part of the GOP? The wing of the party that endorsed Barack Obama in 2008?

Re: Mike Lee & Ted Cruz not to blame for Reid's No
The GOP Establishment Helped Reid Confirm Obama Nominees
GOP elites in the Senate are understandably finding it arduous to defend their vote for a terrible budget bill, which ceded the power of the purse against a lawless president for the entire year. They are finding their vote against Cruz’s constitutional point of order to be downright indefensible. As such, they have honed in on an argument that Sens. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz, by pushing the debate over the budget into the weekend, enabled Majority Leader Harry Reid to buy more time to confirm more of Obama’s liberal nominees.
A number of establishment Republican senators, from Susan Collins and Jeff Flake to Bob Corker and Lindsey Graham, are asserting that by forcing a Saturday session of the Senate, Lee and Cruz gave Reid more time to chew up the “cloture clock,” which enabled him to confirm more nominees beginning today. Their stenographers at the Washington Examiner echoed this criticism of the conservative senators.
Not only is this spurious allegation a complete distortion of the current Senate dynamic, it is those who are making the accusation who are responsible for Reid’s extra leverage:
1) Reid Committed to this Long Ago:
2) Other Senate Business:
3) Giving Up Our Only Leverage:
4) Hypocrites on Nominees:
5) No Commitment to Block Nominees Next Year:
Spare us the righteous indignation about Reid confirming Obama’s nominees.

Quote:
What Really Happened This Weekend
Why I tried to block Obama’s amnesty.
Only one month ago President Obama announced amnesty for roughly five million people here illegally. He did so in defiance of the manifest will of the voters;...
Amnesty is wrong, and it is unfair. It’s unfair to millions of legal immigrants, to the 92 million Americans who are currently not in the labor force, and to minority communities across the nation struggling with record unemployment.
Even more troubling was how the amnesty was decreed: by executive fiat,...
ate Thursday night, the House passed the so-called “CRomnibus,” funding the federal government to the tune of $1.1 trillion.
That’s what’s publicly known. Now let me tell you some of what happened behind closed doors.

Re: Mike Lee & Ted Cruz not to blame for Reid's No
Last paragraph from the above referenced article deserves to be highlighted!
Quote:
But we need action, not just words. We need resolve.
And one of the most significant benefits of the fight this weekend was that almost every Republican—those who voted with us and those who voted against us—has once again gone to the press expressly agreeing that Obama’s amnesty is unconstitutional.
We should build on that, stand together in the new Republican Senate, and honor those commitments. If we are going to defend the Constitution, we must respond decisively to this constitutional crisis.

I don't know yet. The GOP Establishment, with the help of Fox News is working hard against him. That should tell us something. They want to push out any true conservative. But, Ted is different. I think the populist will listen to him and push against the media.
Look at this article. This is what the Rhino Republicans are pushing in the media and especially with the help of Fox News contributors against Ted Cruz, which is simply a bold-faced lie.
Quote:
1) Cruz's gambit had no hope of succeeding, and 2) the maneuver set off a series of parliamentary events that allowed Majority Leader Harry Reid to get a head start on his other remaining business, which was the confirmation of a number of President Obama's nominees.
There are four problems with the anti-Cruz scenario. The first is that on Dec. 9, days before Cruz threw a wrench in the works, Reid signaled his intention to confirm all of Obama's remaining nominees, no matter how long it took.
|
You can read further to see how none of this adds up against Ted Cruz.
Quote:
So there were some very complex cross-currents going on in the Senate in the last few days. The bottom line is that President Obama and Democrats got the confirmations they wanted — just as they planned and intended, regardless of anything Ted Cruz did. As he made clear before it all began, Harry Reid was going to make full use of his last chance to confirm his party's nominees. It would have made no sense for him to do otherwise.

And here is Senator Ted Cruz explaining his actions.

Re: Mike Lee & Ted Cruz not to blame for Reid's No
Fighting Obama’s Amnesty: Et Tu, Brute? - Jim DeMint
What Cruz and Lee did was stand up for those who are tired of the status quo.
They were serving as a voice for the underrepresented majority who are too often not heard in Washington, D.C. They were trying to deliver on the promise made by many of the politicians who were victorious in November.
And what did they get in return? Anger and vitriol from their colleagues who claim to share the same goal.
Instead of focusing on Obama’s unlawful amnesty, some in their party went so far as to accuse Cruz and Lee of helping Harry Reid confirm Obama’s radical nominees. This, despite the fact that Reid has invoked the nuclear option and made it crystal clear he intended to keep the Senate in session as long as it took to force through Obama nominees.
Without a hint of irony, those senators hurled false accusations as they voted in favor of the Obama-backed spending bill.

So many rotten people in politics!!
Then when a person comes along that
really and truly does want what's best for
our country, most often they are put
through a very hard time [by those who don't
give a true care].
I really like Mr Cruz and what he stands for!
I hope he runs!
