Repubs plan to stop Obamacare w/o Gov't Shutdown

Republicans introduce plan to stop Obamacare without shutting down government

Republican Rep. Tom Graves and 42 House cosponsors introduced a budget plan Thursday to defund Obamacare without forcing a government shutdown, placing pressure solely on the shoulders of Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Graves’ Security, Stability, and Fairness Resolution is a continuing resolution budget bill that offers a fiscal year 2014 budget that keeps the government open but does not fund Obamacare.

Waste of time. No way it goes away until we get a GOP prez. Why dont they spend time on things that have a chance of happening? Worst Congress ever. Worst Prez ever.

The House was, under Boehner's leadership, going to continue down the road of voting on something that wouldn't mean one thing.

Jim DeMint, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz are forcing this Congress to vote for something meaningful. It is very powerful progress.

Certainly not a waste of time. We have a good group of Constitutional Republican Libertarians doing an "in your face" to the GOP Establishment.

I say, it's about time.

DeMint calls for meaningful vote to defund Obamacare

Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint called for an end to “pretend votes” and “gimmicks” to kill the Affordable Care Act and said Republicans must use the budget resolution to defund the president’s health-care law once and for all.

“This is must-pass bill. Our point is Republicans should fund the government in its entirety except for Obamacare,” he said. “They should send that bill to the president, to the Senate, make it clear to Americans, they don’t want government shut down.”

Re: Repubs plan to stop Obamacare w/o Gov't Shutdo

Jim DeMint is Winning America

Over the past several weeks, Republican aides in Congress have planted a number of stories attacking the Heritage Foundation, Heritage Action for America, and the Senate Conservatives Fund — three groups closely associated with former Senator Jim DeMint.

DeMint started the Senate Conservatives Fund. He’s now President of the Heritage Foundation. Heritage Action for America is an offshoot of Heritage. The reason Republicans have been attacking Jim DeMint, and with him the men he championed before leaving the Senate — Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul — is because of the very well orchestrated “DefundIt” campaign.

How is it not a waste of time?

Obama will veto any attempt that even passes a vote to get rid of it. So shelve the idea until they get a GOP Prez.

Just like Justin Amash, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul keep saying - this is not what the American people want. They are simply listening to the people and the others in Congress think it is there choice to make. It is only their choice when they don't listen to the people.

So, it is not a waste of time for good men in office to voice that and highlight that Congress is NOT voting for something meaningful. That Congress is NOT listening to the American people.

Until DeMint took over at Heritage, we never gained this much traction. It is never a waste of time to keep pushing.

They can say that the country is turning blue and Texas will turn blue because we don't think it will, but I say these principled men like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Justin Amash, et al., are going to continue to rise. And I do believe on both sides, the American people are watching and really listening. I don't believe the majority of the Left is any less Patriotic than those on the Right, when push comes to shove. I don't care what the media or polling is trying to make us believe.

Re: Repubs plan to stop Obamacare w/o Gov't Shutdo

Will Unions Want to Repeal Obamacare?

The question for unions is, what will they do now? Terry O’Sullivan, President of the Laborers International Union of North America, said on Wednesday that his union wants Obamacare “fixed, fixed, fixed….But if the [law] isn’t fixed…then I believe it needs to be repealed.”

O’Sullivan got his answer two days later—the Administration claims the law can’t be fixed. So will his union now call for Obamacare’s repeal?

Dude, no matter how you paint it, its a waste of time to try to get rid of this while Obama is the President. Why? Cause he will veto it! If they try to use the threat of a shutdown, they will really lose. If they waste their time on this, they will still lose. It makes them look bad either way, cause its not happening. WASTE OF TIME!!!!! Wait till we get a GOP President first.

Problem is the Demo's have the hearts and minds of the 52%, so the Repubs will get blamed for shutting down the "give aways" from the gov, and so we continue to go in circle. Which seems to be a spiral downward......
