Parts of the Mother Jones "Romney" video missing
The blog Legal Insurrection was able to get a comment from David Corn, the reporter at Mother Jones peddling the videos, regarding the missing footage. Corn admits there are, in fact, about one to two minutes that are unaccounted for.
“According to the source, the recording device inadvertently turned off,” he wrote in an email. “The source noticed this quickly and turned it back one [sic]. The source estimates that one to two minutes, maybe less, of recording was missed.”

Re: Parts of the Mother Jones "Romney" video missi
How does Romney's Mormon brother's article negate the fact that Mitt, himself, admitted that what he said was his beliefs? I listened to his presser.
Of course, the 47% wasn't what I was concerned with anyway (the entitlement mentality which he had a hand in developing was my concern), but he did say, even if the video missed a minute or two, that what Mother Jones, initially, put out was his beliefs.
So, everyone can focus on his statement about not worrying about that block of people and I will view his healthcare entitlement statement as being disingenuous to his Progressive views.

I imagine the Republicans are real happy with Billy.

A Note on Romney’s Arrogant and Stupid Remarks
It remains important for the country that Romney wins in November (unless he chooses to step down and we get the Ryan-Rubio ticket we deserve!). But that shouldn't blind us to the fact that Romney's comments, like those of Obama four years ago, are stupid and arrogant.

Let's see...William Kristol was one of the folks saying only Romney could win the general election back during the primaries, and now he's calling him stupid and arrogant (which coming from Kristol is like the pot calling the kettle black---when it comes to pride). Those of us who didn't vote for Romney in the primaries are now trying to get him elected (with exceptions) and the folks who said he was the only one who could win are now bailing on him? I believe the longer you live in Washington, the more retarded you become.

You are right. Their back and forth support/non-support is retarded. You never see anyone sticking with their principles from the very beginning. Oh, well, Ron Paul has and that is what made the young people want to follow him. The other men and women in Washington should take a lesson. Young people want boundaries and consistency.

Yes, that's what they ALL want - unleashed.
Quote:
“Most Americans fail to recognize that throughout most of our history drug laws didn’t exist. There’s reliable evidence that the laws have done nothing to decrease drug usage while contributing significantly to street crime. Responsibility for teaching about the dangers of drugs falls principally on parents. Parents teach children about the dangers of highways, high places, stoves, household poisons, swimming pools, etc. It’s their responsibility to warn about all dangers, including alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and bad diets.”
Government should not compel or prohibit any personal activity when the activity poses danger to that individual alone.” - Ron Paul
|
What Paul's main premise has been all along is that we need to get the "federal" government out of our lives and leave the issues to the "states" and "individuals" to take responsibility for their choices. THAT is what appealed to the "young" crowd. They are tired of the "federal" government's overreach in our lives.
I was surprised, when Gary Johnson spoke at the latest CPAC conference, at how many people clapped when he spoke on legalizing marijuana. Lots of clapping Republicans! I was thinking, "Wow, lots of smokers in the audience."
Of course, he goes on to explain that you would regulate that in the same way you do alcohol - no driving while drinking, no sales to minors, etc. There is still an argument to be had about the "gateway drug", IMO. And I can't remember if second hand smoke, also, makes people high.

Yeah, where do you draw the line? After pot, then other drug users will push for other drugs to become legal. To me it's as if liberals and some libertarians are never satisfied, they're always moving the goalposts getting what they want and then demanding more. Incrementalism. We have decide as a civilized society whether there are actual lines that should never be crossed or not. Where do we say no and stick with it?
