Mitt-Stake
This will be my last article and argument for this election cycle. I wanted to highlight this particular article on its own thread because, it looks at all areas on conscience.
It is well written and there is nothing I can disagree with here.
Salut!

Re: Mitt-Stake
I'm voting for a President, not a Pastor.
Martin Luther (1483-1546) is alleged to have said that he he would rather be ruled by a competent Turk (Muslim) than an incompetent Christian, but I don't think that quote has been validated. I have heard that and read that but no chapter and verse is given.

Re: Mitt-Stake
In the past, there were many conservatives who declared they would not vote for someone for President who was not a Christian, but these are the same guys who will "hold their nose" and vote for Romney.
Consistency is lacking in our party.
Bottom line, people vote for who they want to vote for and they will find reasons or ways to support their decision.

I have personally never really thought that way. I heard that was a deal back when Kennedy was elected - people not wanting a Catholic for president.
At any rate, I am sure you are glad anyone votes against BHO... does not really matter why, right?

Re: Mitt-Stake
I like this quote from this article:
“I think Romney might destroy the country we love the next four years if given the chance, but I know Obama will.”

DB,
I know that you are not a fan of Obama, but I don't think you are one to fall for the "Obama is the boogey man" junk.
Obama can't destroy America. There isn't a President who can do that unilaterally.

It's political rhetoric. Obamacare alone is a huge diversion from what America started out to be. It fundamentally changes the nature of government's relationship to the people. It's scary to me that the only thing standing between us and the government taking over 1/7 of our economy is an old man in a black robe. Obama didn't bat an eye at forcing Obamacare when the polls showed a strong majority were against it. He did it knowing it was a risky political move. He paid for it in the 2010 midterms. What would he be willing to cram down our throats with no worries about another election?
And if there is even one reason to reject a second Obama term its this: Obama could appoint enough liberal judges to the Supreme Court that the balance would tilt in the liberal's favor and then there would be no stopping him or a future liberal prez. Ginsburg or Breyer would be replaced most likely, so that's an even trade. But if one conservative justice dies or retires, a liberal judge would fill the spot. With Sotomayor and Kagin, you have two young liberal justices that hold those seats securely in liberal hands.
Obama can't single-handedly destroy America, but he can greatly alter and fundamentally change our way of life. FDR did so during the Depression and expanded government to a whole new level. And the prospects of Obama leading us without showing any sign he's willing to tackle the debt problem? All we have to do is look at Europe and see what awaits us. If the US dollar becomes worthless, yes, America could be economically destroyed.
JD, you still don't make a convincing case to reelect BO.
