I don't like his social policies (I'm all for the defense of marriage act) but love his foreign policy and economic policy. I'd vote for him or Santorum, I don't like the Grinch guy even though I'd vote for him. I liked Bachmann, even though I knew she wouldn't win.

It would be nice to be able to vote for a GOP candidate that I can defend when speaking with other people.
Santorum is NOT that guy.

I don't live in America; however, I followed the Iowa caucus votes and the lead ups pretty closely and from what I heard from Ron Paul is that he has hit the nail on the head WRT foreign policy.
The USA has interfered with middle-eastern countries for decades and has had a large military footprint backing up their foreign policy. The residents of these countries resent USA for this, not for their capitalist ideas, different moral value set etc...
The world doesn't need the USA to step in to police us, we actually want USA to look after themselves.

I disagree with you.
This world needs accountability.
If the despots of the Middle East were decent and if their countrymen were not hell bent on blowing up innocent people and each other-- if the good people were in power all around the world, then our posture could be diffferent.
What your post fails to address is that America does good all around the world. The presence, influence and strength of America keeps the despots in check, for the most part.

The world does need accountability! The USA has decided it will pick and choose which international conflicts that it will choose to be the police for... interestingly enough, they mostly revolve around fiscal influences rather than moral ones.
Their are multinational global organisations that have been established to ensure accountability. The arrogance and greed of the American political agenda often contravenes the intent of organisations such as NATO, UN etc...
What despots do you speak of? Sadam Hussein? Hosni Mubarak? The U.S. was desperately involved in placing these political leaders into power and supporting their governments with financial and military aid.
I agree with Ron Paul's policy on American foreign policy... bring the troops home!

Given our good will towards others, power, wealth, and military superiority, I believe the responsibility of leadership fell into our lap.
We saw the threat of communism and we stared it down-- that took leadership!
