Republicans lose

Republicans are going to have plenty of questions about their plan to turn Medicare into a voucher program tomorrow morning after Democrats romped to an improbable victory in a special election focused almost entirely on the issue.

Democrat Kathy Hochul lead 48-43 with over 83% of the votes counted and her victory looks to be a strong one -- Corwin underperformed in key GOP counties while Hochul's margins in Democratic areas were in line with the party's high water mark in the district from 2006, a wave year that swept the Republicans out of the majority in the House and Senate. The district is normally a safe seat for Republicans and few considered it vulnerable when Rep. Chris Lee (R-NY) resigned over topless photos he posted in a Craigslist personal.

Re: Republicans lose

That would have never happened if you democrats didn't have the media in your corner who never tell the truth unless it benefits them. It happened because the electorate is ill informed and easily swayed if they think their money is going to be touched.
Well, they're in for a huge shock, Obamacare is already taking from medicare to the tune of half a billion dollars, but is that ever reported? Hardly.

A party that supports, endorces, forces others to pay for abortion on demand is the immoral majority. Period.

You don't seem to have any problem lying. If you or you phony republican politicians had any facts to PROVE your above lie, they would be in court to stop it instead of trying to stop medical care through plan parenthood by defunding!!!

PP is the number one supplier of abortion. Tax payers fund planned parenthood. Do you really need the amount? It's easy enough to find if you do a search. Mexico City Policy....you have heard of that, right?

I don't appreciate being called a liar, but no matter as I know the truth.

The democrat platform supports the murder of the innocent child in the womb, that's a fact you can't run from.

I check out Plan Parenting, it does not pay for any abortions. No tax payers money pays for abortions.

I believe why the democrat won in NY-26 is because the republican party is split, but why it is so great about the democrat winning is that it has been a republican state for decades. I believe that more people are seeing that the republicans are for the big businesses including the insurance companies and leaving out the rest of us.

Re: Republicans lose

I think it's sad when one party wins and thinks that's a good thing. Wouldn't it be nice if both parties could agree on something? It seems to be more about the party than the good of the people.

Although 48-43 doesn't seem like a BIG win.

Moral Majority
I don't like Ryan's "program" at all and I don't understand why him and the other Reps are pushing it so hard. There are so many other places to cut cost..even a small cut in Medicare might help but to scrub it completely is insane. This is like a Reverse Obama. Obama and the Dems went too far, to fast and too much on the Universal Health care stuff and not the Reps are doing the same thing in reverse.

I think it's a bad political move

As far as I know the term Moral Majority never applied to the Entire Republican party. It was a religious term coined by Jerry Falwell

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

There's a 500billon cut in medicare thru Obamacare. That's how it's getting funded up front.
I wonder why BO cutting medicare gets a pass and anything that the republicans suggest is doa?
The Ryan plan would not take effect for 10 years and it would acutally be debated, and have to pass. The first is taking place, the second is highly unlikely.
So, when the funds completley disappear, then what?
