Humpty Dumpty Hearts.

The Spirit of The Lord is upon me ,to because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,to preach delieverance to the captives,and recovering of sight to the blind,to set at liberty them that are bruised,
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke 4:18

Most people are familiar with the childhood tale of Humpty Dumpty who sat on a brick wall and had a great and all the king's horses and all of the king's men couldn't put Humpty back together again.
Sadly in the tale Humpty Dumpty was never put back together again.
In real life many people have Humpty Dumpty hearts that have been broken for one reason or another.

Many people are walking wounded ,their hearts have been broken and the pain is too much to bear.
Jesus Christ was sent to heal the Humpty Dumpty hearts of this world.
He can mend broken hearts ,wounded spirits ,touch the abused and those who are in despair.
He can heal broken families ,give purpose to those who have none ,and give hope to those who feel their situations are hopeless.

The Humpty Dumpty hearts of this world can find healing and wholeness through the person Of Jesus Christ ,their story can have a happy ending.
Jesus can and does heal Humpty Dumpty hearts.

Yes, all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again. That's when THE KING had to do it. He's the only one who can. I think that would make a great title for a sermon. I appreciate this post.

.....HE came to mend the brokenhearted that's for sure!!

This always reminds me of Dolly's song - Starting Over Again. I'm just posting the chorus. It reminds me of when my parents got a divorce. This song always made me cry. I haven't heard it in years, but your sermon reminded me of it again.

Could never put mommy and daddy back together

Even though the king's horses and men couldn't put them together, if they had known the power of the Holy Ghost...... We had a neighbor that witnessed to my mother, but she never has, as of yet, given her life to the Lord. She's a little bitter over the Catholic Church in her life.

I never talk to her about it. She gets defensive and so I just leave it to the Lord.

You are so right - God does heal the Humpty Dumpty hearts if we will allow it!

There are so many wounded people in the world today both and out of the church ,but God is in the restoration business.

Wholeness is possible through the power of God ,and the blood of Jesus Christ.
The King and King's men in the fairy tale couldn't put Humpty ,Dumpty back together again ,But The King Of Kings and Lord of Lords can put broken things back together again ,yes He can.
