Martyrdom in Egypt:

Yesturday our pastor spoke about the 21 Christians who died as martyrs in Egypt during the New Year's. These were gathered to worship Christ when a suicide car bomber killed 21 Christians worshiping inside.

The Egyptian government has condemned the bombing. However, the Egyptian government as traditionally not offered Christians much protection from acts of violence.

Please say a prayer for fellow Christians in Egypt.

How awful. God be with those left behind to deal with this tragedy.

Yes, I wonder why the coverage of this is not as strong as it would be if they were not Christians.

Re: Martyrdom in Egypt:

A lot of people are laying down their lives for Jesus Christ in countries dominated by Muslims.

But if you look at the history of the "Christian" church, you find lots of persecution and killing of those who were not "Christian."

Could "Christians" be reaping what they have sown over the years?

Maybe in some cases. However, Jesus said that the world would hate us and that those who saught to kill us would think they be doing God a favor. Christianity is a martyr's faith.
