Learning obedience
I admit it. I wasn't an obedient child. Sometimes I was downright disobedient.
Tonight, I sat visiting my brother-in-law, Don. His son, David, was sitting close by and Don asked David (who has a child of his own) to do him a favor. David said, "Sure". He told him the favor and, with no hestitation, David got up and fulfilled the request. After a minute, David returned to sit and I asked him, "David, why couldn't you obey your dad when you were young like you do now?"
It got me to thinkin'.. (I do that on occasion). "Lord, will there ever be a time that I will learn to obey you?" Maybe its just me. Surely no one else on this Forum has ever failed to obey the Lord. I have. In fact, I seem to disobey Him more than I obey. Will I ever learn to obey my Heavenly Father as quickly as David obeyed his earthly father tonight? Well...yeah... maybe... when I grow up.

Waiting for the Lord is easy... Waiting patiently? Not so much.
