We Are Losing A Generation Of Elders
It is with just a little poignancy & a lot of sadness that I see a generation of elders passing off the scene & going to thier reward that is rightfully thiers.
I see a passing of the mantle to my Generation & I know I see shoes that are awfully hard to fit let alone grow into.
JT Pugh, Bro Barnes, Bro Cole, Bro Mahanney to name a few.
Just a little Melancholy today.

Well, they did show us that we can make it if we remain steadfast! I can only appreciate that along with the memories of their character. Great men!

Yup. I am at that age where the preacher stars and movie / tv stars of my youth are all passing on. Found out over the weekend that Peter Graves from Mission Impossible died a week ago Sunday.
Billy Cole and Charles Mahaney were both certainly characters that probably we won't see the likes of again!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I for one, have not and probably will not ever forgive Tom Cruise for what he did to Mr. Phelps in that first film.
When you take over a franchise you're supposed to respect the "elders" who went before you, not turn them into double agents.

Re: We Are Losing A Generation Of Elders
I heard a minister on TBN quote a proverb that said something like, "When an elder dies, it is like a library has been burned down."
