Is it Ethical?
We all want to be moral people but sometimes there are shades of gray. Outside the realm of normalcy lies an area where our convictions are tested.
Is it ethical to lie to a liar? What if a terrorist asked you where your child was hiding and you didn't want your child to be found?
It is ethical to steal from a stealer? What if this person was the government and they were taking food out of your childrens mouths. Would you cheat on your taxes to feed them?
What if your boss told you to mail an unethical email. Would just mail an email and said you sent an email and evade the issue that the content was not in it?
I heard a story about a pastor once who was given pies by a woman who was filthy. He took it out back, put an X on the ground and threw the pie on it. He then told the woman, "That hit the spot sister!"
If you did these things, would that mean your convictions had changed? Or would it mean you made an exception to your convictions.
So, when and where do YOU draw the line on it's okay to fudge a little.

Good thoughts.
There are ALWAYS grey area's. For those who say there are not, it just means their grey area's are in a different spot from yours.

It is hard to say .......... truth is I don't know what I would do in these situations . I know I have failed in these kinds of things and probably will in the future . Jesus help me, I know He knows our frame.

Failed? You only failed if what you did was unethical. Jesus healed on the Sabbath day and allowed his disciples to pick corn on the Sabbath because it was for the good of the people. So...you may have failed or you may not have.

Lying is always failing.

What about the people who helped the Jews hide from the Nazis?
The people who helped the slaves escape from their owners?
Rahab? God rewarded her for lying.

God is our shield.

Lying is wrong even on taxes

Lying comes in various forms
I heard a story about a pastor once who was given pies by a woman who was filthy. He took it out back, put an X on the ground and threw the pie on it. He then told the woman, "That hit the spot sister!"
He was lying

What does the bible say about lying should be the question. It is amazing how much lying church folks will do.

Have you ever smiled at someone when the last thing in your head was to smile? We all have moments when our body language does not match our thoughts, that also is a lie... But to some folks out on the street if you gave them an honest expression they would push you in the gutter.
