States are afraid of Obama! New Gun Laws.

Have you read? Certain states, Tenn and Montana, have already passed gun laws that will, hopefully, counteract the feds if they try oppressive gun laws. Very interestin.

http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=9565635

Utah is trying now along with 20 other states.

Lets see! 23 states that are saying.... we will protect ourselves! Almost evenly devided.

Anybody see a problem?

The proposal would do away with federal regulations on firearms made and sold in Utah, including criminal background checks and bans on certain types of weapons and ammunition.
What would Dayton mean by this wording?

Good question,... I guess that would mean they would not have to have FEDERAL background checks. I could mean that the states would take care of their own. I really don't know on that one.

It does seem to me that Obama and his cronies are having a polarizing effect on many states. It bothers me when we see a division in an area such as FIREARMS. There are several gun makers in utah. What are they going to do? Arm themselves to resist..... what?

This "polarizing effect" is a much needed move back toward the proper understanding of the union.

This is a union of sovereign states with a federal government which serves in very limited capacities defined by the constitution.

This move by states exerting their sovereignty is a very pleasing development.

I say kudos to those states are doing their best to protect the rights of their citizens to own a gun. I firmly believe in owning a gun, however, there should be some reasonable restrictions when it comes to owning a gun. I will definitely check out the link posted above.

In what ways would you reasonably restrict ones right to keep & bear arms?

So I can walk into an elementary school with 5 fully auto guns strapped to me and nothing should ever be said right?

The statement I was referring to was speaking of restrictions when it comes to owning a gun.

Someone who has a record of armed robbery, assaulting people....I don't think anyone that has such a criminal record should be permitted to own or handle a firearm. It just reminds me of what happened in California. A sex offender was released early from prison due to the horrendous budget problems. 24 hours after his release he tried to rape a woman.
