Obama says, if the GOP would just quit saying no..
Obama: Republicans leaving themselves little room
January 29th, 2010 @ 11:23am
BALITMORE (AP) - President Barack Obama is telling Republicans that their rhetoric claiming his plans would "destroy America" has left them little room to reach bipartisan solutions.
Obama on Friday told GOP members of the House that their name-calling and blind opposition have led them to become politically vulnerable because their sole message is that they say "no" to the first-term president. Obama says their characterization of his plans as part of some "Bolshevik plot" has been unhelpful to both parties.
Obama says Republicans' statements have boxed them in with their conservative base. He says the tone in Washington has become corrosive and is not serving their constituents, something he says must change.

What a joke! If Pres. Obama were to take responsibility for anything he'd done I think I'd pass out.
TJJJ why don't you run for president? I'd vote for you if you'd run against Obama.

Yep, blame Dubya and the Republicans. Nothing's BHO's or the Democrats fault.

If you read the article, you should not come away with that as the President's message to the GOP at all.
In fact, the President and the GOP took turns lecturing, tossing barbs, and surprisingly, even listening to each other.
Imagine that-- a call to civility in American politics!!

Re: Obama says, if the GOP would just quit saying
Come to find out, Obama is related to a lot of white Republicans, including the Bush family.

Oh WOW I didn't know that someone else had posted a thread about this same meeting in Baltimore!!!
The President has a point.
If it was wrong to unnecessarily demonize the former President, it is wrong to do the same for the current President, regardless of the political party.

Yes, I agree. And the thing I find kind of ironic is that 2 former President's got together to ask for support for Haiti. No politics.

That never stopped the Democrats. That didn't stop Obama ever blaming Bush and the Republicans since he got into office.

Some things Bush must take the blame for.
President Obama took the blame on not presenting healthcare reform to the American puiblic in a clear manner.
The President is not always dodging the bullet and passing the blame.
To say he never takes repsonsibility would be inaccurate.

Re: Obama says, if the GOP would just quit saying
Kind of like when Hillary Clinton said,
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic, We should stand up and say, we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration"
When the Dems do it,it is the right thing to do, when the Reps do it, it is obstructionism. Oh I get it.
