Best gift THIS year
Ok, we all know that PO and Renda got the best gifts this year - they're going to be Grandma's by this time next year And Hoovie has his precious little son. How much better can it get!!
But for those of us who had to settle for the mundane this year, I'm curious. What was the BEST thing that you got?
You all are gonna laugh at me, but I don't care. My favorite gift under the tree was The Official Guide to Adventures in Odyssey. I've listened to Odyssey for years and years and love it still. Now it's nice to be able to put faces to some of the voices. And to read the behind-the-scenes stories. I can't wait to dig into it!!!
My REAL favorite gift tho was that both of my boys absolutely loved every single thing they got. Considering that 95% of what they got was clothes, that is really saying something They knew things were tight this year and were very happy with everything just the same.

I got several nice things, but two I can really use came from my mother.
I got a Holman Concise Bible Commentary, and Holman Bible Handbook.
These both are good reference works.

You know you can listen to live streaming of it? www.whitsend.org
Our family loves Odyssey! I have been listening for 20 years!

Peace on earth! Ok, so just in my home. But after the last week it's been AMAZING to only deal with minor spats for the ENTIRE DAY.
And my 11 year old made the Christmas meal. I had so much fun working with him as sous chef and dish washer and watching him accomplish such an amazing thing. I'm so, so lucky to be his mama.

OK besides MY SON, I got a Polaroid PoGo™ Instant Digital Camera and printer. I will use it in my business.

Pardon my ignorance, but why would you need a camera for work?

LOL! I understand.
Nearly 50% of my work is documentation. It is especially important for home buyers, and insurance adjuster claims. That is to show the apparent current condition, and any visible damage or defects. I also use them as sales tools.
I have an internal camera that provides closed circuit photos in flues up to 50'.
Of course digital cameras are readily available for other pics but this POGO camera has a printer and the prints have backs with sticky adhesive.
Some reports require more detail and must be done in the office, but we do alot of repairs, and many of the smaller jobs can be closed on site with a handwritten proposal. It is always good to leave photos in such a case to show what you are going to fix. That way they can show a spouse or family member.
When the issue is on top of a twenty foot chimney it's hidden from most folks. If I can leave a pic or two (stick them directly on the proposal with commentary) it avoids a lot of second guessing and questions.

Wow! Call me a stereotyper, but I thought all you guys did was take a broom and dance and sing on the rooftops... "Chim chimney chim chimney, chim chim cherooo... good luck will rub off when I stand next to you"
Next you are going to ruin the whole image by telling me you do NOT speak in a british accent???
But really, that makes a lot of sense, I just had no idea, you have a big job! Do you have employees? or do you do all yourself?
