Sellouts & Chicago-Style Politics

Thanks to sellouts like Mary Landrieu (LA) and Ben Nelson (NE), the joke bill called healthcare reform is moving on towards a Christmas Eve passage .... even though Congress hasn't read the actual bill up for the vote!

I'm not naive and understand this happens on both sides of the aisle, but it should be illegal for members of Congress to sell votes or be bribed into voting a certain way in order to get federal funds or other favors. It may well be "the Chicago way," but we all know how corrupt Chicago-style politics has been.

In my job, a person would be severely fined and face jail time if they did what these Senators have done.

Up to now, Senator Nelson was the one Democrat I supported. Not any more. If this bill passes, I believe Senator Nelson will be voted out, as will many of the others up for re-election this-coming fall.

Unfortunately it will be too late to save us from this bill, but I'm looking forward to see the majority of these Senators who supported this bill get voted out.

I don't know all the particulars of this specific bill, but I am a firm believer that we need some sort of Healthcare reform. In my opinion there does need to be a system that is more favorable to the people and not just to the pockets of the Healthcare Industry.

I don't disagree that changes and true reform should be made.

However, one party trying to shove their bill thru - using bribes to secure votes - in a few days is NOT the way to change or make true reform.

This is HUGE! Why are BHO and Democrats so rushed to get it through? Why not take some time and do it right? The answer is because they don't want to. We have no idea what all is in that pile of junk they're celebrating as healthcare reform.

This won't lower costs, it won't help the deficit, it will only add to it.

It's garbage and everyone who votes/supports it should be voted out of office.

This is the line that I agree with the most, but wish that it would be applied to every politician of every party on many issues.

One issue at a time! But I agree that both sides of the aisle should have that applied. I'm an equal opportunity voter.
