Watched Avatar last night. Midnight show, 4-story screen, 3D.

Unbelievable.

James Cameron isn't much known for his dialog or characters, but the technical achievements and attention to detail made that barely noticeable, and the 3D characters really came to life. He certainly raised the bar with this one.

3 hour movie. I went by myself and was barely able to get ONE seat 30 minutes before the thing started.

Re: Avatar

Did you experience any nausea? I've heard some who watched the 3D version had trouble watching it because of nausea and dizzyness.

Watched it on Saturday, got very dizzy and VERY nauseated. I had to leave one time to collect myself. If I felt I was going to get sick after that I just put my head back and listened to the movie!

Re: Avatar

I am also interested in knowing about needing/not needing 3-D glasses. I have never been to a 3-D movie before.

Am planning on seeing it tomorrow night. Wife doesn't know it yet, is she in for a surprise. Will probably have to bribe her with $10 movie nachos, she loves those.

I saw G-Force the hamster movie with 3d a few months ago, its pretty cool and they fit over regular glasses if you wear them like I do

I get new bionics the first week of January - holding off on anything theater related until then.

Dunno if I could stand to sit there like a nerd wearing 3D glasses. It's hard enough to sit still as it is.

Re: Avatar

At our cinema there is a 3-D showing and a non-3-D showing. Our cinema charges $10 extra for the 3-D movie and the glasses are included in that.

I wonder if the movie experience is worth the $10?
