Harold B. Estes, a 95-year-old member of the Greatest Generation: “I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out.”
To read the letter in it's entirety, which is certainly a treat!:
Pressing-On,
I had received an email about Harold B. Estes letter to Pres. OB, so I went
to check it out on www.snopes. com. At the time (2 or 3 wks ago) snopes
said it was undetermined as to whether Harold Estes actually wrote it. Some-
one had claimed that someone in Florida was the author. I checked back to-
day as to what snopes.com had determined.

Thank you, Falla. The end of the Snopes link posted a statement by Fore 'n Aft authenticating the person saying that Harold Estes is legitimate and dictated his letter to a secretary.
