Years ago, when we first started hearing about the plan for microchip implants, the reasoning behind it was for medical records, to prevent kidnappings, and so on.

Now, we are being told the government only desires to care for us in an affordable manner, and protect the X number of millions who don't have health insurance.

How does, or does it at all, play into 1 Thessalonians 5:3 "For when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them...."?

Now, of course the preterist take is it doesn't. How about the rest of you?

Good point. However, there is a school of thought that states American problems ARE global problems.

I've heard that verse applied to nearly every major event that has come up in my lifetime. Especially when wars end.

I don't think it applies to anything in our time period, personally.

Maybe the more interesting question is why people want to cry wolf without knowing if it is a wolf?

In other words it will only later hurt their credibility if they keep crying wolf and no wolf is there, to the point that no one will believe them about wolves again even if there really was one...

What part of the context of the chapter or book would lead one to believe that these were anything further than instructions being spoken to and relevant to the people reading that paper that day?
