There is a possibility that we could be relocating to the Myrtle Beach, SC area in the near future. I have been doing some searches on the internet and I am trying to find a good church to go to.
By good I mean a loving, friendly people, that Believe the Bible and teach One God, Baptism in Jesus Name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
I do not wish to go to a judgmental church that has a list of rules that you must adhere to before they welcome you into their circle of the Saved. Not trying to controversial, just don't want to waste my time.
We are going down in September for about 8 days to scout some things out, I would like to visit some churches while we are there. All help is appreciated and if the church has a web site that would be helpful too.
I had seen this website, but was concerned because they were UPC.
We have not had very good experiences with that organization here in Tn.
But we may give them a visit.

never assume or judge a church because of a stereotype.

Sounds PC and popular but give me a break!! We all do this everyday. Judgement (discrimination) is Ok, based on your past experience, as long as you make exceptions for the possibility that one is different from the pack. This ONE upc church may be a good one, whereas by your experience all the ones in TN were not. ? You are going to "give them a chance" cool. It is only when discrimination is based on prejudice it is evil and small minded.
Going into Myrtle on the right side of the main hwy, there is a little white church with "apostolic and 2:38" on the sign I always wanted to visit there, but when I am in Myrtle I have sand and sun on my mind, but if I lived there I would try the church.

SK, last I heard was still bi-vocational. He is a successful, hard working and savvy entrepreneur that has put a lot his own money into the church. I believe they also run a thrift shop, if I remember correctly, that has been a great tool in helping the community and reaching new converts.
Dee, his wife, comes from a very good family also.
My cousin, Ben Cooke, is a UPC pastor in Conway, SC, not far from Myrtle Beach. I don't know how he runs his church, but he's a good man. His step-father was Urban Vanderhoff, and Allan Oggs was his step-brother-in-law.
Please at least stop by his church. He's honest and will answer any and all questions you ask of him.

Thank you HeavenlyOne, do you know the name of the church? I found the address and pastors name on UPCI.org, but the name of the church is missing.
